I just wrote a whole story what’s going on right at this very moment next to us. Because I’m not used to using this journal entry site, I canceled my whole story!🥴 But the lowdown is, deputies have shot and killed a man after stopping a Bellflower street takeover, that is just three doors down from us!😮 Then there was a terrific car crash as cars were trying to get through the intersection.😲 Brainless, mindless kids that should be thankful for owning a car destroyed theirs and others in such a stupid game of showing off!!! 😠 Now we will have troubles getting to work I don’t know how my husband will get down the street. Tons of traffic going both ways down our street and we can’t figure out why both ways. There must be something going on at other end of the block also!😩 We live on property that was made for farmers growing bean crops. That’s how I came to own horse property here. Yet, the streets were made just for the farmers so the streets are tiny, tight and narrow, really only one and a half cars can get through widthwise. So someone has to always pull over to let the other person by. People are being funneled onto our tiny street are having tantrums, they don’t know how to be polite, wait, and be patient, plus pulling over for other cars is not happening! As this seems a bit traumatic, to me it’s nothing! Let us pray for Ukraine for there’s nothing else we can do, prayer is the most powerful tool on earth! 🇺🇦🙏 May your Thursday be uneventful and full of blessings!🌺 As it has been said, If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito!😁

I come from an old school "street racing" scene. And while I do not condone it anymore, we were nothing like this!!! This "street car takeover" stuff is such BS!!!
If it's what I think you are talking about, they block off roads and do donuts and stupid stuff that causes huge delays.
I bet they would be pissed if someone did that during their work commute... If they even have jobs.. Maybe mommy and daddy bought the car!

Chance, you’re so right, as people are trying to get to work, and they’re interfering with that!
They have been doing donuts here for about half a year now, they even are doing it on the freeway!!!
The cars have to be given by their parents because kids who pay for their own cars won’t ruin their tires that happily.
Three things I hated in life was race car driving, fishing, and the dentist.
I married into a family with all dentists, a race car driver and fishing as a main theme,…learn to love it all.👍
My BIL was a Formula One race car driver. They started closing down the streets in Long Beach for the race and annually now in April they have the Grand Prix of Long Beach. I got to be in the pit crew even though I didn’t know crap. 😆 I kept the windshield clean!🤣

Liv001 that intersection is a mystery to me because it’s a perfect intersection, yet there are always accidents there.🙃
One car had creamed into the bus stop years ago and killed 2.
I can’t help but go by and look at that bus stop and think about those people.🙁

It’s sad that so many people put their time into mindless things. There’s so much in this world to explore and that’s what they do?😔

But yes, all that takeover BS is so so so very frustrating. I am floored by it. I do not get it.

Jershie, I live in Bellflower because there was horse property here. I’d rather live in Lakewood.
I live in a part of Bellflower that’s just next to Lakewood and it’s right next to Long Beach as well, so the cops and firemen get confused what district we’re in.🙃
What? A father of six threaten the police with a garden tool? I got to find out what happened it must’ve been the houses across the street. Why would he threaten a cop, was the cop standing on their grass? I don’t get it! MINDLESS, procreate - even bacteria does that!🥴

John, I am always walking to that corner, it’s just right next to us and there’s always something stupid going on. 😮
I usually always take my little dog and we trot down there and he has a blast and I do the nosy neighbor thing.😆
It’s nice to be a nosy neighbor because often you meet your neighbors you never knew existed before. Believe it or not our neighborhood is pretty decent, but there’s a lot of people because horse and farm property has turned into apartments.🥲

Diana, The world is crazy and for Russia to bomb and fire at a nuclear plant in Ukraine is the most insane absolutely idiotic thing ever as Russia is right next to Ukraine!! Becky♥️ I don’t know the whole story, but I’m glad the police came to stop the street takeover.
That should be a long jail sentence as it ruins so much and they think it’s so fun, there’s a reason there’s laws and rules one must follow or be punished.
Holding up traffic punishes everybody except the few foolish idiots, trying to show off, in their cars!🥴

here, at least, you can call the non-emergency number and they will tell you the general details. helpful if the helicopter is over your house for an hour and you're not sure if you want to leave. citizen app also has info, but I try and keep my distance from it as it can really suck you in and make you paranoid. I just want to get an alert if there's a random man swinging a machete around at the park when we're there so we can avoid.

Shrewdness and Kat, part of the reason I always had trouble sleeping, when I lived in the city. I didn't even know what "take overs" were. I had to look it up.
