Debbie Cousins's Journal, 08 February 2022

Things are going pretty well around here, except that my car is still in the shop. Maybe it will be totally fixed when we get it out this time.

Made a huge pot of chili today - 2 pounds sausage, 1 pound ground beef, seasonings and 25 cans of dark & light kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and tomato soup. I've already sent some downstairs to my son, and I need to pack up some to take to folks at church tomorrow morning.

I'm thankful that I've had the energy to be cooking lately. Also today, I finally put away the remainder of the Christmas items (wall hangings, kitchen decor, nativity set, and various decorator items). I took the ornaments off the tree a couple of weeks ago. All that is left to do is take apart the tree and take it to the dump.

Lately, I've been planning my funeral! No, I'm not dying (that I know of), but I've felt led to prepare things so my family won't have to when they're grieving. I already put together the picture slideshow (112 photos, which I saved to a jump drive); and I've compiled the list of who needs to be contacted when I pass. My daughter was kind enough to agree to handle my Facebook account when I'm gone. Oh, and I've written my obituary - well, all but the death date and the day/time of the funeral service (which will be at our church).

After I plan MY funeral, I will get started on my husband's. I would also like to prepare a book for my grandchildren, telling about my life, with all the pictures I have of me with each of them. Exhibiting MUCH more energy than I usually have, PTL! Meds are very well-balanced right now, for which I'm thankful.

I just set up the next two Daily Accountability Challenges (#7 and #8). Excited that we have SIXTY in this week's challenge! I'm praying everyone will do really well and accomplish their goals this week.

Good to hear that you're meds are working and you're feeling better Debbie. Hope you get your car back soon. As for funeral arrangements, I told my children years ago what I want. Making a list of who to notify is a good idea though, I do need to do that. Thank you so much for continuing your challenges;I haven't been active much lately, but I'm going to do better.

I paid for my cremation and there will be no service of any kind. Not my thing.
