One thing I thought would improve with my drastic weightloss were my varicose veins according to the dictor who saw me 2yrs ago for it that would be the solution but after loosing the weight all I have now is tired heavy achy legs. Any idea of why this could be? Any solutions? so much pressure from weight is now off them. is it because they are readjusting?

I’m not sure, but the varicose veins can be eliminated, if they are causing you pain.

I was trying to avoid the procedure guess I'm going to have to reconsider. Also insurance didn't think it was necessary and denied paying for it😔

You can give it more time to see if it improves. Are you sure the pain is caused by the varicose veins? I had leg pain at night, but I fixed it my taking magnesium at bedtime. Maybe that would work for you too ;)

have you tried wearing compression socks for a couple of days to see what they do?

Lambiepi, no im not sure I once told I needed to take magnesium for my migraines because I may be low i did for a few but it gave me bad side effects so i stopped maybe i will get my magnesium levels checked.

Katsolo, I bought some but have not tried them because I recently found a small moveable lump on the front of my lower leg and Im afraid to cause more harm dont know if its clot or a bulging vein🤷‍♀️

There are procedures you can get done. Research, and talk to your Doctor, make sure you tell your Doctor about the pain and how it effects you. That was your Doctor can make this a medically necessary.

Think about the veins in your legs being like an old bra that is too small or an old pair of nylons. You over stretch and over stretch them and repeatedly, put them in the hot dryer all the time and next thing you know, there is no stretch left. Just because you stop using the dryer and stop over stretching the items isn’t going to make them return to their new condition..for now get yourself some compression hose. You don’t need to get the ones that are so tight you can’t get them on, just something in the 18-20 range. Try compressionstore.com or just Google compression socks. They make really cute ones now days even with funky colors and patterns. That extra support will help a lot and feels so goooood. You may need a sclerosing procedure done in the future or a vein stripping if the hose don’t provide some relief. As a young nurse I heard the older nurses complain about leg pain all the time so I started wearing support hose from the beginning of my career and after 45 years my legs and veins are still in pretty good shape. I still wear them when I hike or drive long distances.

Kenna, I knew you had ti be a healthcare worker you have some great knowledge thank you for your advice it definetly makes sense how you put it just because I stopped the overuse doesn't mean they return to their normal state🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ but its a good thing I did to prevent further damage. Wish I could buy new ones and throw these away like you do with a streched out bra lol🤭😏😂 any idea what the moveable bump can be?

when's the last time you got blood drawn to check your electrolytes?

3 weeks but I am having digestive issues which did cause dehydration, pain, and additional weightloss due for an endoscopy in a week.
