Oh, Dixie, hon - it is clear to me exactly why you are not losing. Dixie, your caloric intake is dangerously low. You are not eating enough, and your body presumes you are starving and is hanging on to every morsel of fat it can get. You've got to eat NO LESS than 1500 calories per day, likely more due to your current weight and consistent exercise regimine - honestly. Have you read the Atkins book(s) yet? You need to eat 12-15 net carbs of vegetables per day - you need to eat anywhere from 3-6 oz of protein at most meals. Your Fat should be 65% of your daily RDI, 30% Protein and only 5% Carbs. Currently your carb average intake is 26%. What you are doing is NOT Atkins, hon...and it is unhealthy. We're here to help. I know you can get this turned around and the scale will be moving in the right direction SOON. Suggestion - Go to Atkins.com > Forums > Getting Started > Why Stalls Happen by whyguy - lots to read but super helpful and informative.

I started right about where you did, and im doing the slimgenics program which i hear is similar to the atkins diet, Its simply not true that u need 1500 calories, i spread all my meals out and get enough throughout the day that im not hungry and i only have 700-1000/day. They break it down like a food chart so i have 2 protein servings, 2 fruit, 2-4 vegetables, 2 starch(1 serving is 40-50cal)a fat and 2-3 of the protein snacks(they are the same exact as the wonderslim products that u can get at dietdirect.com) I also take a carb blocker. Im was down 70lb in about 20 weeks(bit of a plateau during the holidays but back to it now)Hope this helps.

It looks like you are starving yourself at the stake of Atkins products. Atkins products are not meal replacements, which looks to be what is happening for you. As Evie mentions, add in your healthy veggies. Get good quality foods in your body. Make this a healthy and happy journey, dear friend. Your body needs nutrients and I assure you that the Atkins products are not serving you well. Try leaning more towards low-carb proteins: meats, approved veggies, healthy oils, cheeses and eggs. Forget about high calories and fat, which is your new fuel. Once you get this healthy fuel balanced, you will notice a difference. Wishing you all the best! (Tip: stop eating Atkins products. They are not helpful. In fact, they can cause stalls. Other buddies can attest to this.)

RedHolly is right - and I respectfully submit to you that Avelure's WL plan is different... If you are indeed following Atkins you need a minimum of 1500 calories per day (women) PERIOD. It's in all the Atkins literature/materials. As RedHolly said, the fats ARE YOUR FUEL -to fuel your body and give you energy. If you are not getting enough calories thru fats/proteins/fibrous veggies you will not be well-nourished, nor will you lose weight. Due to the sugar alchohols found in Atkins products, it is possible that they cause stalls for some people when eaten on a regular basis. Once in a rare while it is fine. One of my buddies actually cuts on Atkins bar up into smaller pieces and just has one bitesize piece per day, which gives her a sweet snack while not risking a stall. I also recommend you eat sugar-free Jello and top it with Heavy Whipping Cream. Finally, Dixie, if you are wanting to follow Atkins successfully it will be best for you not to take advice from others who are doing another WL plan b/c the contradictory information you will receive will become really confusing - even conflicting for you. Just a thought - Know that you have friends on here who care. I wish you well...

Another suggestion :) Go to atkins.com (or get the book The New Atkins for a New You) and read about the science behind Atkins - How the program works. It may help you to understand why this way of eating works the way it does. I haven't been able to stick to Atkins yet, although it's the WOE I keep coming back to for my health issues and future ones I want to avoid. Reading the science has helped me to notice things I never noticed before - how my body reacts to certain foods, especially carbs/sweets. I have also noticed how I felt when I eat the Atkins way (even just one meal). Why I can't stick to it - it's just frustrating (I blame a varying work schedule and not enough time to really plan ahead). Someday I will get it all figured out. I just hope its still an option when I do, not a mandatory change. Good luck to you!
