Day 10 of 40 no food fast - 1/4 of the way through :) and hasn't been too bad! I think I can do that 3 more times :)

I didn't lose anything for 2 days and now I'm UP a pound this morning...

Do you know how depressing that is when you're eating NO food and walking like a maniac???

I just have to get over it psychologically and wait...There HAS to be a whoosh soon...

Trying to keep my chin up!

Great Job! Yeah, the 'plateau' happened to me too :) The 'fat burning process' is still happening. Stay your course! Also, I had to laugh when you journaled about thinking food. Yes! I do this every week when I do my 'no solid food fast'. You now know the "Truth" of Fasting. Simply do not listen to other people. They are simply reacting to their "Fear" that someone would force them to fast. It is *not* about *you*. Take Care!

During long-term fasts, your body will switch to "starvation" mode and start storing fat. In many cases, that extra weight gain is actually necessary to continue the fast safely, but it will come off with time. 10 days! That's crazy! I'm more of an intermittent faster; I don't think I could do (or rather, would desire to do) more than 2 days. Great willpower! As long as you're being safe and monitoring your blood sugar and all that jazz, go you! 💪

Well done - the chicken bouillon has a lot of sodium so likely just water hanging on

You are spot on about the psychology. Unfortunately, I know the plateaus oh too well. Sometimes, that’s when I switch from Keto to balanced or balanced to Keto. I make sure I drink 72 oz of water. That said, it’s hard to stay focused when you are eating less or little and see no change. Hang in their - this too shall pass and keep you eye on the prize!

Remember, we women experience hormonal changes and fluid shifts related to our monthly cycle. Don’t worry about the scale, as long as you feel good, keep going. You should be fully in ketosis and fat adapted after the 40 days, IF you want to go that route with your diet.

I plan on remaining in ketosis after this for sure to finish off the last 20lbs (Assuming I'll lose around 25)

ps: I feel outstanding. I'm surprised how great I feel. I never want it to go away! My only complaints is that I can't sleep a full 8 hours...I'm getting like 5 most nights because I wake up really early and can't go back to sleep....and I day dream about food but I don't physically feel super hungry anymore.

Google magnesium supplements for sleep. It relaxes the body. Some types are more absorbable, perhaps mag glycinate. Also melatonin about 20 minutes before sleep.

Ah, good! You're accepting comments again! I think that is good, because you get so much encouragement from them. Just ignore any nay-sayers and don't pay them any mind. Each person has to do what is best for THEM, whether or not it is what somebody else thinks they should be doing. You've got this, Sharon!

I also found when I fasted (only 48 hours) it effected my sleep

Thanks guys! Magger - I actually have the magnesium at home so I'll try that tonight so THANK YOU! I want to stay away from the melatonin though cause I know our bodies make it naturally and I normally am a very good sleeper so I don't want to mess with my body's natural production cause it obviously already does a good job...but we'll see how the magnesium works! I also know that any type of large calorie deficite makes me wake up numerous times throughout the night and then wake up VERY early and not be able to go back to sleep...this is completely normal for me. The weird part is that I actually don't feel that sleepy throughout the day even though I'll only get 5 hours sleep (very unlike me - I need, at minimum, 7 to feel normal and even with 7 I'm groggy usually)

Thanks for updating. I'm interested in how this all works! You've got some amazing willpower!
