Reading thru some comments on another post I saw a recommendation to use measurements as a gage in addition to weight loss. Wish I had done this when I first started, but I decided to measure today. My problem area is my tummy, as it is with many women over 50. A friend at lunch yesterday, who is actually pretty tiny said she was trying to lose a few lbs. cause she had gained in her tummy area. I can tell I've lost some in that area but I'm still bigger than I like. That has spurred me on to try for another 5 to 10 lbs. after I hit my original goal.
