shiny50's Journal, 16 July 2019

This is not food related. I am sooo worn out! I have been in pain since January. I can barely walk, let alone think about exercising. I am exhausted all of the time. I think the constant pain is wearing me out. I don't know how much more of this I can handle. The pain in both knees is debilitating. I cannot walk around the store. I have to use those scooter things at Wal-Mart....how humiliating. I am really down today. I literally cry out in pain when I go from sitting to standing. I cannot sit down on anything low or I physically am unable to get back up. I am so over this. Okay pity party is over. Well except I think I may need a good cry later. I am so frustrated. Anyways, I normally am a see the glass as half full kinda girl...just having a little breakdown I guess. No feedback is necessary, I just needed to VENT!

Good venting! I don't know what the diagnosis is, but collagen and high protein are both healing for joints and muscles. My healing picked up when I went on a mostly meat diet.

I know you said no pity party...but, how about some empathy? My heart completely breaks for you. I had chronic pain for 4 years. I know where you are and how much it takes from you! What are your doctors saying? I don't know about knees, but those sticky heating pads that stick to you - Thermacare heat wraps - helped. Heated blankets too. I got embarassed by the fact my house turned into a pig sty - like a hoarder house b/c of immobility - pain free just this Feb and finally getting my home in order. Do you have family or friends to help with things like grocery shopping? At the time, I did not but if you can, ask for help if available to you.

Sending you love. ❤ Pain brings on a bit of depression, so you want to cry, you go ahead and cry. I hope you get some relief from your pain soon. ❤

Hope you get the pain under control. I’ve been there and it sucks! It takes awhile to get used to no pain but it’s so nice once it’s gone. Wishing you well!

Thank you guys! No rheumatologist...yet. About my Tribe - My boyfriend does help me quite a bit but yes, the house is a mess, there are things I just can't do. I am very stubborn and hate asking for help. He is my only support, all my friends and family live out of town at least one hour to as much as 15 hours away. I see my doctor in two weeks so I will see what she thinks. Thanks for letting me vent without judgement.

@Peggy...don't know how it is in other areas, but in my area - unless you have a diagnosis, doctors are slow to prescribe anything for pain. Masking pain makes diagnosis slower. Also, if pain is chronic, there aren't many optimal options for the long-term. And some medications are ineffective after a span of time. If all else fails, apply for a green card if it's available in your state.

Do you have an idea before your doctor’s opinion? Hugs 🤗

I hope that you feel better soon. You may want to have your doctor check your iron levels. A lot of times people are anemic or have low iron and they get pain in their muscles and feel totally fatigued.

I agree with Mykahlia. I have anemia and it is awful when your stores get down below a certain level.

I went through the exact same thing. I am severely Anemic and even needed a blood transfusion. Now, I'm on the road to recovery. I would definitely get your iron levels checked.
