Yeah, resizing would be nice, instead of just cropping. Can do that on plenty of other websites, it's not that tough. Heck, I did it on a project I did for myself a couple years back. Pretty sure your lot can figure it out, as well. :)

Now, if you could do the collage affect, that would be awesome. :)

Can use a third party app to make collage and upload that. That's what IV done in the past

I know you can, Keith. I do it all the time. That really isn't the point.

It would be pretty easy to do on app. Not sure about the web site.

Ok I didn't know you did it. Was a temporary solution is all hahahahaha 🤦‍♂️

It is easier because we can upload directly from our photo files on computer now - but maybe I am "slow" because mine seem to be blurry and gigantic. I wish we could size them more easily and not have to crop half the photo to fit FS needs

Not having a set of specs to go by in the photo area. A simple couple of lines of things to size our images would help a lot. There have been many time I have tried to upload photos and wait forever only to have it give me an error at the end of a long wait. Gets frustrating. And if you downsize the image and try to load it it will still not load. I have to exit the site and come back in to get a fresh photo load screen without errors. In the orange box for photos just put a few details of what is allowed and it will save a massive amount of headaches.

Depending upon what you use to resize a pic in order for more of it to fit in the area here in FS, you can end up with very low resolution. Like using a thumbnail. Very small, but when FS enlarges it, looks awful.

resizing, crops too much of the pic sometimes

So it sounds like the biggest issues are around sizing & cropping (& the unpredictable nature of both)?

Yeah, it would be nice to know the parameters the pic is looking for. And resizing vs cropping is huge. Resizing can be almost completely automatic, though. I understand we sometimes want to fit a square peg into a round hole and cropping will be necessary, but when we have to crop from both horizontal and vertical, that's where it's just being lazy on the developer's side. I know that if I have a wide horizontal pic, it's best to put it in a collage to get be able to show it all. That's where having the ability to collage here would be helpful. Pick from a few configurations. Not difficult to program.

They can figure that out automatically in the app, Draglist, if they gave it half a thought, or one visit to StackOverflow for suggestions. I did and it was the first app I ever wrote. If I can, they can.

Even apps like Instagram get that wrong for me at times. A combination of the two (auto rotation, cropping & sizing - with manual adjustments for each) would probably what we would ultimately go for - albeit a gold plated implementation.
