Kikibee if you have a glucose meter it is pretty easy to test. get your morning reading have coffee and then test about 15 minutes later. coffee does not take long to effect the ketone and glucose readings if you have a problem with it or with a sweetener. Sweeteners are also big issues for many of us.

Baskington, what a terrible problem to have to deal with on a daily basis. You are one tough, intelligent woman. Your problem solving skills really don't benefit from non-qualified helpers. (That would be me.)

for brain fog, you can try increasing your salt. Just dissolve a little in water and chug it! Add lime for extra taste. It’s definitely helped me. Caffeine intolerance is so interesting, usually it’s supposed to help ketosis by increasing your metabolism but I wonder how it works in your case. How long after your food do you have the coffee and how long after coffee do you have food? What’s in the coffee

Where did that article go? Was reading how our bodies get more adept at using calories the other day... As we become “healthier” our bodies can live on fewer calories? Is it possible our maintenance calories at 250 pounds could be different at 150 pounds? Gotta find that article again! 😎👍

I wrote this out pretty much namank. over the past few months I have also discussed my food allergies and food sensitivities. long history here with these issues. I don't need salt, and it definitely does not help food allergies. You are looking to correct a problem with electrolytes I am guessing. I was keto over 2 years before moving to carnivore to deal with my food issues. I am finally over the hump and feeling pretty darn good.

😭 I’m sorry you have to cut the coffee out. Coffee is one of the most important things I consume. Have you tried a shot of colada? Maybe I slightly different type of coffee might affect you differently. Especially since it’s so small?

Hmmm...wonder where that pesky meter might be? Since the doctor took me off my meds I’ve lost track of it. Doubt I would have any strips either! Dang! It would be good to REALLY know

😳 it’s Cuban coffee. Like espresso but a little bit stronger and more bitter. I guess it’s just Miami that serves it everywhere 😜
