Well, I returned from my 12 day vacation (cruise) feeling good about myself and my will power. Since it takes me so long to lose weight, and I gain so quickly, I decided to stick to my 23 WW points while on the cruise. That meant limiting the unlimited wine or booze to one a day unless they were having a special champagne reception. Then I had just a piece of fruit for lunch since we were usually out on excursions anyway. I counted everything as best I good. Fortunately, Canyon Ranch Spa was on board and on the dinner menu they chose the healthiest menu items and made suggestions. Invariably, I ordered from that section. I mostly had fruit for dessert and sugar free ice cream occasionally. We were so much more active than at home that any hidden calories would be accounted for. I have not gotten on the scale because I know that the food on board might have hidden sodium. So I am waiting until Wednesday. My clothes are not tighter; in fact, I think they are looser, but I do expect a weight gain because that is the story of my life. I didn't go around hungry and felt good taking the focus off the food. I am glad we had unlimited excursions because on most days we did two, which meant being twice as active. I will post again with the results on Wednesday. I will be very disappointed if I gained weight.

That is amazing that you could go on a cruise and still stick to your diet plan! I doubt I could have done that.

I am answering everyone's questions here. We had a GREAT time. The excursions were terrific, and kept us active. I will weigh myself tomorrow. If it is within a pound or so, I know it is water weight. I definitely feel things are looser and my stomach is flatter. We started the cruise in Montreal, then on to Quebec City, Sanguenay, Sydney, Halifax, Bar Harbor, Boston, Newport and ended in our home port of New York. It was supposed to be a fall foliage cruise but the extreme heat in Canada and everywhere in the world this past summer affected it. We saw some in Bar Harbor, but living in the Northeast, we get gorgeous fall color, so that did not ruin our trip. We were on a small cruise line with under 500 guests. I was shocked that the staff learned our names immediately, and greeted us no matter where we were. The ship was the Regents Seven Seas Navigator. My only complaint was one very rocky evening and night. I get sea sick so despite not REALLY getting sick, it was a downer. I was not the only one. Thank you all for your support.
