Trying this fasting thing today. Can't remember a day in years that I haven't eaten something. I've done 24 oz of water and 10 oz of coffee for breakfast. Prepare yourselves for the most boring food pics I've ever posted.

The number one important thing for me when fasting is that I take some sort of 'electrolyte supplement' (I use 'Hi-Lyte Electrolyte Concentrate') because drinking water alone will still leave me dehydrated after more than one day of fasting. Dehydration causes me to feel weak and lethargic and is very serious. Be safe!

Are you fasting for just the day or extended fast? I do IF and it works for me. Kinda of cleanses and resets the body. Like Adef said you will probably need to add in vitamins/supplements if doing an extended fast. I don't do the gatoraide etc because of the extra sugar, kind of defeats the purpose of the fast. My doctor put me on B1, B6, B12, and Omega 3 during fasts. I would suggest if you are working with your doctor/dietitian to have them do a panel lab and then he can tell you what vitamins you need while fasting.

I’m sooo excited that you are going to give it a try! I haven’t been doing it for very long, but at this point I am in love with how I feel and the results I’ve seen! I’ve been pretty much aiming for 20-24 hours, and so far that works perfectly for me, but if you’re used to eating breakfast and lunch, maybe you should aim for 16 hours to start? I also drink at least 4 26oz glasses of water a day, and make sure my calories are in check. Oh, and I think that for me this is key, I do use a little butter in my coffee in the morning, I think the fat is what keeps me from getting hungry. And early on when I did feel hungry in the middle of the day, I would have a small coffee with a bit of butter and it took the hunger away immediately. Best of luck to you and please keep us posted on how it’s going!! ❤️

Welp. I ate last night at around 10pm (I know...too late) and decided this morning to skip my coffee shop and breakfast and lunch. I made it until 11:45 then a coworker "made me" go to lunch with him 😂... he said Hey, lets go to Beerno's and I said ok. Basically twisted my arm. (I seriously hope you can read the sarcasm here). I ate pizza and salad and had a sprite to drink. Fast blown. Will try again tomorrow.

@Mjgh06 - We keep Gatorade in the house for 'electrolyte miscalculations' (basically feelin dehydrated), but if you drink an entire Gatorade, even the low sugar one, I don't expect any weight loss that day. I hear there is suppose to be a "Gatorade Zero", but we don't have it in SoCal yet...
