Well said Rosio19. This biggest thing I see not only on this site, but in public people go crazy with condiments. Salad dressing. Sour cream. Butter. Mayo. Cheese. Man.......that stuff isn’t any good. Not preaching just pointing out calories. Sure eating a baked potato is good, not all the toppings. Just saying😬

Just pick up a health or fitness magazine. The problem hits you square in the face. Frosted corn flakes and cancer medication is what you will find there along with the overwhelming message that you must punish your body to make it comply.

Agreed, I worked in Clinical Nutrition and have seen a lot. I think deep down a lot of people know , but ignore it because making a lifestyle change seems to hard to them. But losing a limb to diabetes is not ?

I feel your pain, I teach a nutrition class in college, have added Keto to the curriculum, and I'm living proof what can happen to the KETO lifestyle, I just put information out there, but as you say it is not always accepted !!!

Tridski I sooo agree now, we don’t realize how calorie dense these liquids Are 🙃 Yes enjoy, but in a controlled manner. I myself can do without those toppings, those are treats now in days 😋 n in a portion controlled manner

Momacan many people on this site can give info. Not me since I rather eat anything and everything in a portion controlled manner rather than to deprive myself from tasty foods.

Rosio 19,yes got off all diabetics meds no longer diabetic , no more suffering nephropathy, I'm a new man !!!

What a great post When I think about the appointments I've had with my dietitian I do think I really just wanted her to agree with me about what I had read and wanted to do! That poor woman!

Rosie, You give sound advice that's based on evidence and results. Just because someone can't hear it now doesn't make it less valid. Keep up the good work.

I put salt (or tajin) on things like salad or sandwiches instead of any condiments. It satisfies the tastebuds without the nutrient sneaks. I had blood pressure issues that went away without meds even while eating lots of salt. Drinking lots of water too. Sure, sodium increase blood pressure, but only by like .0001%.

Nutritionists/doctors are taught things that most of us would cringe at: "why are you recommending the food pyramid/plate?"... We have no degree. We just have theories we found on the internet. BUT, we have evidence of transformation based on our rogue "experiments". The more open-minded research seems to come from overseas where they aren't so concerned with making money from pills once your diet has screwed you up. America seems to be very allopathic ("give pills for every problem"). Just an observation - not some conspiracy theory 😛
