This is the weight after a 10-day fast. Now moving on to the refeeding. This fast was rougher than other fasts that I have been on because of the fatigue and weakness.

I've only fasted intermittently so far, 18:6 and 19:5. When you fast for several days and then begin to eat again, do you gain weight back? If so, about what percentage of the lost weight do you regain when you begin eating again please?

it is normal for me to gain 4-8 pounds back after a fast if I dont eat low carb, so eat low carb to prevent that.

@Highland Heather - As long as you have fat to burn for energy and don't get dehydrated, most people will be fine. You only starve when you have no fat to burn and no food for energy. We eat less calories to force our bodies to burn fat, a fast just forces the body to burn more calories. For some of us, periodic fasting IS the 'sustainable lifestyle' :)

It is normal to gain weight after a fast. Your body is more adaptive to fasting then it is to overeating. Your body has plenty of stored resources to sustain it for many, many days but you cannot go without water. Even though I lose weight during a fast, it is not my primary reason for fasting. Fasting gives the body an opportunity to rest, cleanse, and reset. It has many health benefits. There are disciplinary benefits also which will help to shift me into an actual weight loss program. Intermittent fasting is the best way to go to lose weight. Intermittent fasting has its benefits of cleansing also. So if it was just for weight loss, I would just add intermittent fasting to my diet plan. There are many sites on the internet that has a lot of information on fasting. Thank you all for your support and comments.
