Kenna Morton's Journal, 06 June 2022

I got a PM from a newer member just telling me that pancakes were probably not the best choice for a weight loss program. I just chuckled . Do you eat yogurt? Do you eat oatmeal? Do you eat egg? Do you sweeten with a little honey or monk fruit?— if you answered yes, you can have a pancake— a good sized pancake. A food item is just a mixture of ingredients, combine them any way you like. Portion co trol and moderation.

I refuse to live a life where I'm never allowed to eat a pancake again

I can eat anything I want as long as I follow my own set of guidelines

Well, pancakes are probably not the BEST choice but they can be worked in every now and then. I only make them about twice a year because I prefer to drown them in butter and syrup. And that makes them like a dessert instead of breakfast. I always want to take a nap afterwards 😚🥱

What in the world? She picked the wrong person to message. 😆 I envy your control and ability to eat normally and be in great shape.

That is hilarious! Of all all the people one might choose to instruct, Kenna isn't the right one! Good gosh! I think you are the model we are all trying to emulate! Thanks for the giggle this morning!

It really isn't so much as what you eat but how much of it you eat. They must don't know about moderation. 🤣

Oh man..this is interesting...lol...do they not know your background? Apparently not... You eat what you want Kenna! You know what to eat and when to stop etc! 💜💜💜💜

when I switched off of keto I retained a ton of water at first. I'm not counting carbs as much now and the water weight has come off. I missed fruit and especially pasta!

Kenna, yours is the voice of reason. There’s no such thing as “bad” food in my book. Using portion control and good judgement plus balance should give us all everything we want or need to eat. Pancakes? Yes, please!

Have you tried two eggs beaten with one ripe banana and 1/4 tsp baking powder? Makes a crepe like batter. Fix it like pancakes.

Pretty funny that someone would PM someone abut what good choices are, especially someone who has no issue maintaining their weight. I guess some people get over enthusiastic about their initial weight loss and what they learn and just feel the need to spread the message. To be fair...I don't think most people who eat pancakes make oat and yogurt based with no or very little added sugar. It's mostly the flour-based ones, and from what I've read of your posts, your idea of a normal portion is completely different from the rest of us average FS former or current fatties. Anything can be part of a weight loss diet, but good luck feeling satisfied if you're on a 1500 or fewer calories diet like many FS people, with a single "regular" pancake that will eat up a few hundred calories if you want real ones.

Oh my! If only someone had messaged me I shouldn't eat pancakes...then I may have lost weight & met my goal. Oh, wait...I did just that 😉😏😁🤣 Kenna, obviously some people aren't paying attention & don't know you at all.

Based on how many private messages have had either negative or BS information, I'm going to suggest that unless people have an established relationship with other members, keep those thoughts to yourselves if you have any question about the validity or impact on the recipient. Ok I have a serious question.... do you think the pancakes can be made without baking powder? Cuz I want some tomorrow but I don’t have baking powder
06 Jun 22 by member: Supergainz1
yes. baking powder can be substituted with baking soda and cream of tartar.
06 Jun 22 by member: Katsolo
What if one does not have any of those... does one can still eat some pancakes?
06 Jun 22 by member: Supergainz1
Crepes don't have baking powder, but they also aren't fluffy...

Creepy the stuff people think are appropriate to put in PMs. You can make and eat pancakes, and make them anyway you darn well please, and still lose weight if part of a good plan.
