Thanks everyone! Yesterday I only had a cup of hot chocolate for breakfast and then only water for the rest of the day. So almost a fast. I am finding I need to do that on Saturdays if I want to show a loss on Sundays when I post my weight. Kind of reminds me of my Weight Watchers days. Used to go on Thursday evenings, go out to eat with others at the meeting AFTER the meeting, eat pretty much what I wanted on the weekends and then eat very little Tuesday through Thursday. Although I lost weight, I finally figured out Monday meetings were better for me because I had to be good on the weekends. Melissa - I confess during the power outage I was driving back from the dog park and was tempted to stop and buy a huge bag of potato chips! But I didn't and did very well with my eating for those couple of days.

I usually loose at a snails pace! It does ad up looking back! Your doing great. I can go months with only a few pound loss.

You resisted those darn chips! Hero cookie for you! That is actually so great! 😁 I really understand the feeling you need to balance out a high calorie top half of a week with a low calorie lead up to recording a "weigh in." I can tend to do that a bit too. I've had a couple good weeks with my eating, and the scale isn't showing me much reward... Now I have had a bad day and I'm gonna have to do a lot of "balancing" the next few. 😕

Melissa - I've figured out I just can't buy chips because it is one food I will eat and eat and eat. When I buy them, my meal is chips for lunch and dinner. So I know I just have to resist. The only success I've had recently with chips was when I was in Ft. Bragg and went to the deli for a sandwich and bought a bag of chips to go with it. The size was one serving, the size you buy when you get chips at Subway or Togos, not the little lunchbox size. But at least I didn't pig out on them. Took me two days to eat them. Otherwise, I just have to stay away. I do much better with French fries than with chips. Hoping to lose 2 pounds at least by next Sunday to get me on track for the 15 pound loss goal by my next trip to Ft Bragg in November.

I too struggle with chips. I'm ok if u just don't start! Like my man will buy them for the family and u can watch them destroy a bag. If I have a little... It is awfully hard to back away. I was getting some BBQ frito chip things that were on sale for my one lad's lunches. If I measured out 30 grams for myself per day I could do it... But an open bag and mindless munching... Forget it! Good to know your limits for sure! Considering your achievements over the last weeks, I'm betting you will make your goal! It will be grand to go on your trip having done so. Two weeks and I am off to the Oregon coast! I can hardly wait!!! 😁

Melissa - I've got 5 weeks til my next trip to the Medocino coast, really great groupon deal. And then a friend wanted to go soon so I'll come back for 2 weeks and then back again, without the dog, so I'll get a much nicer room with a beautiful ocean view.

Oh wow! It has been more than two years since I have been to the coast and we will get only three nights! You truly are my coast loving friend!

I have learned I have to keep within an average calorie count and lots of strength training/cardio. My calorie count is pretty low due to daily asthma steroids.

All things considered I think that's a great loss.
