I need some help. I'm trying to get a really really good friend of mine to join FS but she's like.... no it will be to much work.
She's kind of a picky eater so I've been working with her with healthy foods and we even went grocery shopping together this morning. So that it's not just my opinion, will y'all comment reasons why she should join us, because I think it would really help her stay on track.

Any reason we give won’t help. This journey is way to difficult, u can’t drag no one to it.

rosio19 has a very valid point. We all know that it is impossible to lose weight if you don't track what's going in your body. It's a huge wake up call when you realize how many calories you are actually eating.

She's trying really hard she just needs motivation. Gosh I said for years that I was going to lose weight, and I would never stick through with it. At the time a lot of the reason I didn't was because of the people I was living with at the time told me I didn't need to lose weight but they didn't see it the way I did, they didn't realize why I wanted to. She wants to lose weight but just sticking with routines, or even learning better routines that the current one is hard. I had no motivation to keep trying for what I wanted, to lose weight, but I knew that's what I wanted. When I joined this I was able to do it between the support and the knowing of having to log my food.

It is hard to motivate people to start...you really have to want it bad but...imho...she should join. Maybe she won't do much other than snoop at first. I started in April and didn't start logging consistently until the last week of November!! It doesn't have to be perfect at first. I really liked watching for all the funny pics and comments. Also people like debbie and rosio and well, everyone on my following list, they all give great advice! Sometimes it might not work for you but...you might be able to tweak it so that it does! So many good reasons to join! LOL, maybe she should start for the pics that Chrisw77 and diablo post...phew! Is it getting hot in here?? I'm only partially kidding there! The thing is, all these people posting the progress that THEY had, really made me want that for myself!! You never know what or who will inspire her to take that next step! I really love the weight lifter pics (Diablo!), they make me jealous but they also make me hope that someday I can be posting those pics! It didn't discourage me at all! It made me want to be able to go to the gym again and even though I'm not healthy enough now...I'm on my way! So tell her that I said she needs to join asap...even if all she does is snoop at other peoples cookbooks!!

To truly succeed you have to want it bad enough and discipline yourself. If she is afraid she has to eat nothing but healthy foods to lose weight you can put her mind at ease by advising that calories determine fat loss/gain. She can work things in that she loves daily.

Fat Secret works. That's all the reason you need! I've dropped 20 lbs. in 2 1/2 months by counting cals and exercising!

You can't make people do things they don't want. And if you push them, you'll actually push them away. Sorry, but people who don't want make the conscious effort change (beyond the "yeah it would be awesome if I was 25Kg lighter"), and put the hard work, won't change.

You simply can’t figure out where you are going wrong if you don’t know what you are eating. I’ve been trying to get my sister to count calories too. She just won’t do it. She probably 250+lbs (and just over 5 feet) and desperately needs to lose weight 😪

What does *she* want? What are her health concerns? Is this her project or yours? You can pick your friends, and you can pick your battles, but you can't pick your friends' battles.

You can't not help her, I have those persons in my life, they want to lose weight but they don't want to work to make it happen.

so she can socialize with the rest of us eating-disordered wonders and be a better person for all of our life experience and witty comments 😀...and she'll probably lose some weight too lol

A lot of people don't understand the concept of CICO. Therefore they don't see the value of tracking their calorie intake. The rather chase the latest diet fads...

Your heart is in the right place. Unless you are willing to do the work for this person you might just consider giving her the info and letting her find her own road people are going to do what people are going to do. She is lucky to have you for a friend.

Yes a lot of people rather chase fad diets and don’t chase learning how much the rest of the world eats. Smaller portion *
