Debbie Cousins's Journal, 07 March 2019

It feels SO GOOD to feel good again! I’ve actually been pretty productive ever since I started taking the Abilify. I’ve (1) washed almost all my laundry; (2) kept the kitchen clean; (3) been preparing two NICE meals a day for Alan (husband) and Dwayne (adopted adult family member); (4) went up INTO the attic to tell Dwayne what thing to bring down, and what things to move where, so he can get a bunch of stuff out of his room, (5) gone through FIVE big trash bags of clothes from the attic and moved most of them over to the church for people to see if they want any (some, I’m washing to see if they fit me now); (6) I’ve also done a bunch of paperwork & phone work (which I HATE to do); (7) I put in an application for Madicaid (about a 45-minute phone call),; (8) applied for a new credit card with ZERO percent interest for 20 months, INCLUDING balance transfers (another 45-minute call, at least.

All that sounds well and good, except that I STILL need to (9) figure out MediCARE and what I’m going to do for supplemental for that before I turn 65 in June (I already made the initial application); (10) call USAA and AARP about their Mecicare supplemental things; (11) check to see if we can get our phone bill cut down (seeing lots of commercials lately); (12) call USAA about FREE tax preparation; (13) GET my taxes done (somewhere); (14) apply for a passport (the Mexico trip is a little up in the air now); (15) go through all the mail that my husband has put on my table; (16) Go to the grocery store; (17) FOLD all the clean clothes; (18) put AWAY all th clean clothes; (19) get a shower and try to figure out what to do to style my pink hair; (20) prepare lunch for DH & Dwayne before I leave at 11:30am; (21) BE at the dentist at noon for the re-fitting of the Essix retainer; and then (22) go to visit my friend!

That doesn’t even count all the stuff that I need to do for the Swimsuit Slimdown or the Daily Accountability 2019-#9 Challenge!!!

I woke up at 12:30 AM this morning! I think I went to bed around 7. Felt exceptionally motivated, so I got up and made another batch of Keto Rolls, and then ran the dishwasher, and sanitized the counters. I also responded to a couple Private Messages, put lotion on my arms, legs and feet, put the skin care products on my face, and am ALMOST finished with half of my 64 oz of water Now that I’m getting so slim and beautiful, I want to get a handle on this dry skin and increasing face wrinkles from losing the fat.

OH, and did I tell y’all that I’ve got an appointment to see a physical therapist on Tuesday, so I can go do PT 2 times a week for 2-4 weeks, in order to get my knees, back and shoulders strengthened up, and hopefully start to get rid of the fat and flab. Then, I’ll know what exercises I’ll be able to continue at home.

Ok, 5:15am now. Been a VERY productive day so far, but I think I MIGHT need a little nap (if I can shut my brain up) before I start Round 2! (All this stuff I’m writing seems very “dejavu-ish,” so if I’ve said it all before, just chalk it up to my rapidly approaching 65th birthday. (A Red Lobster gift certificate would be nice, if anyone wants to get me anything! I've been craving sea food!) LOL

Oh, Lord have mercy - if only you knew what it's been like for the past several weeks before THIS one! I WAS going to say: this is not "normal" for me - but I'm trying very hard to only speak the things I WANT to come into existence. SO, THIS IS MY NEW NORMAL! Hallelujah! I'll let you know after MINE is done! Probably around August of 2026!

I f that abilify got you all that motivated for all that to be accomplished, I want some ! I don't know if I get that much done in 3 days. Who needs to exercise with all of that housework.

Congratulations on so much productivity! I'm with USAA, btw, and each year I research it, it appears to be superior to all the other supplements I've looked at for equivalent coverage.

So happy for you, Debbie. I too suffer from major depressive disorder and take abilify along with another antidepressant. FYI: It may effect you differently, but I did gain quite a bit of weight when I went on the Abilify. Weight gain is a common side effect. I struggled with whether or not to tell you but, I believe in knowledge is power. Glad the "fog" has lifted!

Do you stop to breathe??? I wanted you to know, I was too late to join the challenge, but I am buying a swimsuit and I'm going to take a photo each week until it fits properly. I'm not in the challenge but I'm along for the ride. Thank you for all your inspirations.

Thanks, everyone, for all the support and encouragement! I love you guys! @shiny50, the doctor DID mention that, at higher doses, weight gain is a common side effect. BUT, I've LOST weight since I've been taking it, and I'm on the lowest dose, so far. With as much energy as I've been having, I think I'm gonna be okay in the weight department (hands folded in prayer!)
