No idea why the increase! I have fasted, I eat very low carb, I keep my ratios close to correct, I have started exercising, and even for the CICO people my calories have always been lower that what they are supposed to be. SO why against everything did the scale jump up over a pound. I guarantee I have not gained a # of muscle because what exercise I have been doing has been random and easy.

On another note - I started watching ATHLEAN-X on youtube. He has so many exercises for people with posture issues, back issues, knee issues. I wish I knew a coach/trainer that could put together the perfect routine for me specifically, or how to find someone that could. But I have no idea how to find one so I am winging it. But I love his videos. I need some stretch bands.

I gained 2 lbs when I started exercising. I think your body retains more water because of any inflammation. My scale is moving back down. It is frustrating but temporary.

Your weight will always and forever fluctuate, it’s normal

Do you have a battery operated scale? I put a new battery in mine and it's been very consistent readings thereafter.

You were 195.0# on July 20. You're killing it. Stay the course. Let's go!

Losing weight is like a roller coaster with a lot of ups and downs along the way.Eventually it will come down. Just take time. I have the same issues. It's the water.. Lol

I think you are doing fine! I have gained during a fast (this is what led me to 5 days fasts because I was always able to get a 5 pound loss over 5 days). Stay your course and please be kind to yourself and give yourself a break :)

@adefwebserver I wish I could give myself a break, but I am unfortunately an all or nothing person in everything I do. If I get my mind set on something I am all in whatever it takes, and when I am done, I am done. It's the scorpio in me I guess. I am also impatient. This is a hardship I must bear.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. I know you are correct. It is ust hard for me to accept. -----------@I Am Thor It has fresh batteries. Are there scales that are not battery operated? ------------@Jimmiepop Thank you, yes looking at the overall I should be proud. I have my own little red devil on my shoulder saying 'push more' 'work harder'. If it wasn't for my knee/back issues, I would probably be overworking at the gym... lol

we all gain water weight, you don't have to worry about it

water weight does that all the time. exercise is always hard at first. I hate the total gym, because it is so hard to work on the new muscle groups but I have more control as the slant of the board relieves the impact on my squat work. it would hurt my knees more to go full slant or try to do them on my own. I will learn to like it once I conquer it just like I hated the bowflex. it may be an option to do that harder lower body work. any exercise is good. My bike work increased my breathing ability. walking up stairs used to wind me.

I use a balance beam scale, no batteries, no springs.

I think you are right. Balance beam scale is worth the investment if the scale is screwing with your head. Just to take that battery one out of the equation is piece of mind for you girl.

Ome last thing...If battery scales are not level they tend to give false readings. I can be off by as much as 3lbs if placed on tile vs wood etc. I can't afford a balance beam or I would have one...ugh.

Yes, I understand :) Plus, this IS the place to safely 'vent'.
