BITTER FOOD..good tuesday morning..was reading an article yesterday about bitter food an how its good for you..one of the foods was brussel sprouts..never ate em..but would like for anyone that has..to try an give me an idea of what it taste like..

did my moring rides on zwift this morning..2 rides..one a warmup ..the other a tempo workout ride...its -3 with a wind chill of -11 this morning..sure makes it hard to get outta a nice warm bed at 330am to get changed into riding gear..just to be online in zwift to do scheduled rides..but i can see results from doing the scheduled rides..speed is increasing and that means more miles...less saddle time..in one sitting..stronger muscles in legs an core..

another day of staying in..keeping warm..was supose to get out today an do some running of errands with girl friend..but with wind chill still like it is..decided one more day of staying in would be better..

well need to make the salad..an set some frozen chicken out to thaw for prep..my workout this morning left me more tired then usual..so running behind on prep..

as always...HAVE A GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT DAY...

Oh Mike - I just love Brussels sprouts and they don't taste bitter to me. Apparently there's a reason why they do to some people "A 2011 study by Cornwall College found that sprouts contain a chemical, similar to phenylthiocarbamide, which only tastes bitter to people who have a variation of a certain gene. The research found that around 50 per cent of the world’s population have a mutation on this gene. The lucky half don’t taste the bitterness usually associated with sprouts, and therefore like them a whole lot more than everyone else". I'm obviously in the lucky half. They're my favourite vegetable, along with cauliflower, but extra special because we can only get nice ones in the winter. They have a mild taste in much the same way that cauliflower has. Very good for you too. Try them 😋

I love Brussels sprouts. I don't find them bitter at all. I love them roasted with olive oil, sea salt and pine nuts or boiled and tossed with some butter salt and pepper. My 4 kids adore them too. I will say that I do like bitter, sour and salty foods and have a Did taste for sugar.

Brussels are much better fried or roasted than boiled.. they can go soggy and too mushy very quickly

I like Brussels boiled gently until just tender - delicious. I've never tried roasting them as I'm afraid it would spoil the taste - lol!

I love them boiled also. I take them out when they are still crisp. Tossed with some butter, sea salt and white pepper. This is my favorite way to eat them. My kids too.
