Just an FYI....this is what my nails look like now, long and strong and they grow like mad. I have to file them down each week or they get so long I can't do anything with my hands. Prior to this past year I always had to have acrylic nails put on because my nails were so weak and thin, the tips split and flaked constantly and they grew very slowly. I could go for over a month before I needed an acrylic fill. Now, nothing will stick to my nails for more than a week. I stopped getting acrylic because they needed fills every week and they were constantly lifting off the nailbed. This is 6 months with no acrylic, the nails have shed all of the marks of artificial nail abuse. Healthy...I like it a lot!

Wow. I am on that journey too. I am so glad and happy for you. I told my husband when he retires that I want a little piece of land. I want some chickens and a little garden. I grew up with parents who had a huuuggge garden. Like acres. Don't want that. They had child labor.LOL I do not have that. We went to Texas Roadhouse with daughter and 2 of her children. My grandson loves their rolls. He had cut them up in bite size pieces. I took just a little piece and just chewed one time. I spit it out (politely). It tasted so bad. I have been low carb before. More times than I would like to think. This time something is different. Taste, thinking and physically it is different. Was in costco last night. As we were going out I could smell their hot dogs, which I would eat without the bun. The smell of them turned my stomach. Am I having such a chemical change in brain and body to explain all this? I don't know but I am glad it is happening because I do not ever want to be 220 again. I am at my lowest in over 23 years. Not messing it up.

Deb, Your lifestyle does sound so nurturing! You didn't mention your husband. He's a part of that all around bliss too, right? Jus' sayin. :)

LOL! That was the part about my home with sustenance for the body and soul Erika....I can't speak for his soul being at peace or the renewing of his faith...but he's a big part of my peace and happiness :)

I knew that. It was just funny that you didn't mention him. So happy that things are going so well in your world.

I have big sturdy hands and feet, too. Picasso did a series of peasant drawings with sturdy feet, so I call them Picasso feet. I will never be slender, just not built that way!

Thanks guys! LOL@Steven! Normadale if you are doing IF on a 20/4 protocol then I know exactly what you are experiencing. Your palate is clearing and the foods we are programmed to believe are "good" don't taste good anymore. Most things are too sweet, some things like hotdogs, you can actually taste the chemicals in them. With the clearing of wheat from my system and elimination of it's masking properties, I don't over eat, I can't....I'm full and I know it, back when I used to eat pasta I could knock out a whole plateful of spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread and salad and still have room for dessert, my stomach would be painfully full...but I could still eat. I can't do that now....well I probably could if I added wheat back into my diet because it kills out your body's signals that you are full. But I can't do that with a meal of chicken, broccoli and carrots. I automatically eat the correct portion sizes and I stop when I am full, it's amazing and quite liberating to discover and no, you don't want to mess it up!

Erika, I also have big size 10 feet, well more like 9 1/4 now since I seem to have lost almost a shoe size with the weight. My doctor tells me I have a medium frame but I look at my friends who have medium frames and they have dainty feet, hands and shoulders. I have always had big feet and hands and I have very wide shoulders, the only thing that keeps me from looking like a man is the fact that my hips are just as wide as my shoulders and I am only 5'4"....oh, and I have boobs :)

Thanks Debra for your support and knowledge. Running my fingers through my hair this morning ( it is short not long like yours) I could feel little hairs growing in. Patience is not one of my virtues. With children I have plenty, with myself..... I want bad food to forever taste bad. I knew wheat stimulated appetite just did not know some of the other effects. Wheat Belly was an eye opener. Wish I could get hubby to read it. He is on this journey too, but working, he has a harder time. Restaurants just call his name so loudly. LOL

Norma, I have actually been eating LCHF for two years as of September 17. I hit the 24 month mark then...HA! which is in two days..wow, time flies. But the improvements came over time. I have seen an increase in improvements since I started fasting and I think that may have something to do with increased HGH that comes with the fasting. Not to mention much more stable moods, increased sex drive, and regular normal, painless, hot-flash-less, night-sweat-less reproductive cycles :)

Congrats on that 2 year mark. I have not consistently been on anything for anywhere near that time. Hence the on again off again. I am already seeing the differences in my moods. I will get down but I don't stay down. My daughter and her family is moving 5 hrs away. Now I know that that is not the end of the earth. It has hit me like a ton of bricks. She told me 2 months ago. I was devastated. She and her children are my world. The way I handled it 2 months ago and now is like a world of difference. I don't like it any better but I am handling it better. When I go off plan I can see a difference in my frame of thinking. I knew that sugar would affect sex drive then put it with gluten.... The best part, I see ME again.

My mood has incrementally improved. Cut out GMOs, better. Cut sugar, better. Start supplements, way better.

LOL Jimmie, I do....hubby and the dog both think that my sole purpose in life is to use those nails to scratch their backs......LMAO, I threatened them both with a flea dipping if they didn't stop pestering me for scratches!
