yummmmm, good job staying under your calorie limit and still enjoy this delicious dessert, that's what life's all about. Well done 👏👏👏

Muffin the secret is portion size. This is about 3/4 cup of ice cream, about 4 tsp. of honey & 11g. (less than 1 tbsp) of peanuts. I measured everything in grams. It's still not a low calorie dessert, but since my dinner was, I could " afford" it 😊

319 calories. To lower calories you could have 1/2 cup of ice cream & a little less honey.

Sherrye my problem with ice cream is i cant stop at that small amount. I tried it over Xmas and had two heaping bowls of it. I was lucky i didnt gain much weight (as i lowered calories the day following) but had to throw it away as that dang voice in my head was constantly saying “it’s in the freezer.” How do you do it? If I could figure that out i would be entirely well.

YOH, I'm not sure why I can choose to eat smaller portions. When I was actively trying to lose I sometimes cut a cookie in half to make sure I wasn't going over my calorie limit. We always have ice cream, cookies, candy & chips in the house. When I choose to eat them I decide how much will be OK & measure it out. The voice in my head is different from the voice in your head telling you you have to eat more of something. My voice tells me (usually) you can't eat that much....it's too many calories! That doesn't mean I never overeat. I'm just able to manage it most of the time.

YOH, in your case treats might have to be managed by only eating dessert when you're away from home or by buying single serving treats. That way there is no temptation to eat more than you want. There was a time I'd go back to the fridge or pantry for more of something I should not have. I have trained myself to know one serving is going to have to be enough.

Sherrye you are right of course. I have both of those voices. The one that says you cant eat that much and the one that say hey, its in the house. I wasn’t like that as a young child but have been like that since i was a teenager. Being homeless as a teenager and not knowing when i was going to eat again awoke something inside of me that wont go away. That has not been a concern for over 30 years and yet…so strange to understand the why but not recover.
