I'm grounded today... I worked out with my trainer yesterday and I did squats for the 1st time in 4 yrs so I have jello legs. I cant even walk up the stairs. And I had some blood drawn yesterday and have two huge bruises on both arms so for those two reasons my DH has commanded I take a day off from the gym and has grounded me from exercise for one day. Its ok, everyone needs a rest day. All I have left for the gym this week is shoulders and abs so Ill do that tomorrow instead of today. I sneaked in a 45m walk at the park this morning and I plan to just really stretch out this afternoon. DH has made plans for us to cook dinner together and rent a movie. One extra day of rest never hurt anyone. Hehe..Looking forward to next week. Im off Monday-Wednesday and have decided Im cleaning and organizing closets ! go me! Hope every one has a super day!!

rest is how the muscles heal, rebuild and look nice .The muscles don't regenerate during the workout its during rest . So rest is very important,, your husband is doing you a favor. Don't feel guilt take advantage . Today was my Shoulders and abs as well,, what Plan are you following ? If I may ask ?

I feel for you! I can't do squats, knees are creaky and weak! Something for me to work up to in the future. Enjoy your rest day 😀

ABSOLUTELY - we must have rest days for the muscle to repair itself and release the extra fluids.

Nice the DH is pampering you. You will get there. My first squats a couple years ago did the same thing. My knees and ankles were also very very creaky, painful, and stiff. Now squats are pretty easy though my knee won't handle doing a really deep squat.

Tamarah, im following a schedule my trainer gave me.. But the Sunday part is all me and I split the cardio in am and training in pm so my body can recover and I like morning walks LOL. I can pm you a break down of which exercises I do for each muscle group if you wanna compare.Just let me know. I average 10k in steps a day also.. Monday :AM cardio in park/ PM chest and triceps Tuesday :AM cardio in park/ PM bicep and back Wednesday:PM legs and abs / cardio at gym Thursday :AM cardio in park/ shoulders Friday :PM cardio at gym and abs Saturday : off Sunday : off OR if im feeling good cardio at gym and extra abs.
