Good Morning FS Warriors! I had a moment this morning that left me laying out on the bed gasping and laughing my butt off! For those of you who are young and flexible it won't mean anything to you, but maybe some of you over 50 with mobility issues can relate. The subject - Medical grade compression socks! After breakfast I decided I wanted to take a walk down the driveway so I go to get dressed. I get my underclothing on and the last thing to do was my socks. I have a left knee that has a meniscus tear that is only painful when I turn my foot outward while the knee is bent and a right hip that won't extend outward so I can reach my toes. So I am rolling around on the bed for 15 minutes, grunting and straining to put 40 pounds of legs in a 10 lb sack and TaDa! Success! I sit up and I am sweating, panting, my hair all crazy and my heart is racing like I just ran a mile. I have an audience....two big dogs are in the doorway with three small dogs standing beneath them, all with their heads tilted in a quizzical way...two of them seem to be laughing🤣🤣🤣. I just lost it and fell over laughing🤣🤣🤣. There is never anyone around to video things when you really need it. Now my conundrum is what entry can I make in my exercise log to reflect that 15 minute high-intensity workout??? Hot Yoga??? I did manage to step on the scale today and my weight after two days of eating. So I am up to 289.2. That is a 4.8 pound increase that I am certain is all fluid and digestive content and also approximately the same increase I had after my refeed last week so my average is about 3 pounds of fat loss each week. Not bad, I'll take it! You guys have a fabulous Tuesday! 💕

I normally get really stiff after sleeping or sitting for a while. Seems like my WOE lately has helped tremendously!

I’d count it as exercise!😂

I did put it down as 15 minutes of yoga, and oddly enough, when I went for my little 20 minute walk, I felt more flexible, leg muscles were not so tight and stiff, no round 2 for me with these darn things, there they will remain till 6 pm. I could order one of those gadgets that would assist me in putting them on, but I am stubborn and hard headed and I am still hoping that autophagy will clear out some of the dermatitis, so I am going to give it some time...besides I'm still waiting for my appointment with the Dermatologist specializing in veins appointment to confirm Doc's diagnosis. If I clear it up in the 2.5 months before my appointment, well GREAT! Meanwhile the struggle to get them on every day is real. Hubby helps when he is home, it's easier with a second pair of hands!

I have faith that you will see great results from autophagy by then! 🙂

You made me laugh, not that I was laughing at you ..just laughing with you..👍😂 In all seriousness, I also tore my meniscus about 3 months ago. I'm finally able to do bike, elliptical, and treadmill but have to double up on knee braces. It's definitely not easy so I feel your pain!💜

We bought a device that helps with socks after my mother’s hip surgery. It was very inexpensive and worked very well as she is no longer able to rotate that leg as much as before. It won’t be nearly as entertaining, but might help. Part of hip surgery pack on Amazon.

LMAO! I had to share it with you guys so it would make you laugh as hard as I did. Thanks Katsolo I have looked at those gadgets but I don't want to make a commitment till I am certain I will have to do this for a while. De Nile is not just a river in Egypt :)

Oh my goodness you have me cracking up with that story😂😂, sorry for your pain though. I'm finding out it's rough getting older!!!

Cmj29, it had me cracking up too, in spite of the pain and that was the thought running through my mind, It's hell getting old!

Debra that was really really funny. I struggled wearing compression socks post surgery. Hated putting them on and hated wearing them 24/7 for first 45 days. But that was a funny story. Bet your dogs were like….humans are so weird.😂

I've had a torn meniscus before and had surgery even though doc said it probably won't help at least I could stand up but now it's been retore for years us what my new surgeon office said and I am fine except I can only stand up about 3min before the tingling and burning sensation in my left leg goes from the knee down to the calf area and it makes it worse when I first wake up in the morning I barely can walk from the bed to the couch it sucks. Hopefully another surgery will help me get my mobility back. Good luck.

mine is small and on the outer edge of meniscus, doc said it will heal if I am careful, keep the swelling down with ice and don't stand on it and pivot anymore. Mine's from planting my feet and turning, I'm apparently not supposed to do that.....

I made a discovery this morning! I tried putting on my socks from a butt-propped standing position this morning. The yoga I have been doing has limbered me up enough to reach my toes from that position and the pull on was much quicker and less struggle than a seated position. I suppose you could call that a NSV! 😁

That's an awesome NSV, Debra! 🙂💪

LMFAO Debra. Been there, done that. I hate those socks and love them at the same time. But the first few times I endeavoured to put them on was worthy of $100,000 America's Funniest Home Videos.
