Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 10 May 2023

Sometimes I come on here and lurk. I wonder if I should write a journal that just reads "Not dead." I would journal more if I did that. Today I have started 3 journals and erased all of them. Why? Because well.. it seems either trivial, weird, or the equivalent of watching paint dry.

Today I will go with random boring update so I can look back and remember what happened when. Yesterday I went for the day of exams. MRA, blood work, neurosurgeon visit because who doesn't want one of those? In 2 weeks I have to go in for a cerebral angiogram. Not sure if I spelled that right but its not underlined in red. Nothing is conclusive they are still waiting for answers. It means not going to the gym for a week or 2 after the procedure. I'm not supposed to go up stairs or lift anything heavy for 1 week. I wonder how they feel about boat ladders? Memorial Day weekend is a week after the test. Usually that is the first boat weekend.

On a happy note. I have baby ducks. :)

So cute! Hope your tests work out. I haven't been doing much writing either- for all the same reasons. I reread some of my last ones and it was the boringest (most boring since that IS underlined in red) shit ever. I had to skim. lol

I wish you comprehensive and conclusive reports because (in my opinion) worth thing is not knowing what is wrong with you. Best of luck to you.

oh they're so cute! I'm a "bird person" & love ALL birds I been a bird keeper keeper for over 22 years now.❤️ I understand about the journaling. Makes me feel stupid like I'm talking to myself. I know it's healthy though. I started out small with short gratitude lists every day. I found that, for me, I can better express myself & get deep & real, if I write it like a letter to my Higher Power (that I choose to call God). So i have what I call a prayer journal, where I write down my true thoughts & feelings during that day or week. It's personal, and I find it very cathartic.

I love your ducks! I hope the results of all your tests lead to a good outcome. I like journaling when I'm in the mood, to me it's just a form of thinking out loud.

Geez Ms Elizabeth, you could've led with the ducks. :D :D :D If you journal with your glasses off, nobody will be able to see your posts. Try it, it really helps.

The journal is for you to write your thoughts and not to care what others think or say. We come across your "notes" and decide to read or not to read at our muses, like in a library looking for a good book. A journal such as this is a story, not a popularity event. -- Remember the quote - "What you think of me, is none of my business."

Due to the "rocking nature of a boat" whether on calm water or rough, I would recommend avoiding it for two or three weeks. -- My L1-L6 spinal is plated due to being hit by a car. Complete right side rebuilt.

Its purging for yourself really, it should be an act of you clearing your mind and setting out your thoughts, unless of course you address the community for answers or responses, but also its a great way of the community supporting and encouraging you. I don't think its ever trivial, if its how you feel or think its valid full stop. Wish you all the best.

The ducks are adorable 😍 Sometimes I think I post too much, but I really enjoy the discussions and encouragement. I don't have anyone other than my husband IRL to discuss nutrition with, and it's nice to have this community where I can. That said -- your journal is what you want to make it to be. Make it yours, whatever direction that takes you 😊

A lot of my posts are trivial...just descriptions of what I did that day. I often "write" long descriptive posts in my head, but by the time I type it in....usually at night, I either don't have time or don't remember it all 😊 Elizabeth, you have a knack for writing, so I enjoy reading about your day. Good luck with all your procedures.
