Anyway how am I getting on?

Ketogenic Diet Plan
guys! guys! Ketogenic is inert for insulin. it involves the burning of ketones not carbohydrates! Any more protein than your body can process to repair cells in a day is xfered into carbohydrates as your body cannot store protein. Add to it that you can repurpose protein that you already have (autophagy) keto is not about high protein!

My macros are
fat: 75%
Protein 20%
carbs 5%

Total calories a day as per this site's calculations 1600 cals a day.

Breakfast: keto coffee.
Lunch: A kebab, a bento box of meat, cheese and greens, a sausage... a keto brownie. Whatever I like.

Dinner: a wrap made with a keto wrap, meat with all the fat on it I can do, satay sauce, much cheese, cabbage, tomato. pressed in sandwhich press till crispy on outside.

Treats: super dark chocolate, flavoured waters, cheese, olives, cucumber...

I eat when I want to... I might have dinner at 4pm. I do what I want timing wise, i just stay under 20g net carbs and there is NO point having a 'non keto' day because it destroys about 2 weeks' effort as you kick right out of ketosis for a number of days.

OOh I lie!

You can!

When you tell it to calculate your daily totals, the box comes up telling you how many calories you need... and you can then type in that box whatever you want. So it can be done.

set goal
Go to your weight history, and choose 'change my recommended daily intake' in the list down on the right hand side.

After that, the only thing you can choose is if you lose 1lb a week, or 1/2lb a week, or nothing or gain... and the machine will calculate your daily required calories based upon your current weight.

You can't choose your calorie goal. Smile

Im having a tuff time.............
That is a lot of meds. I see from your profile you are eating a lot of carbohydrates, so you will need a lot of insulin to process them.

My doctor didn't give good advice for diet; she was not a nutritionist and I have had better joy with the diabetic nurse. Eg eg telling me to eat low fat as well as low carb; the only thing left is protein, which turns to carb in large quantities.

So I have had to avoid her advice and go with the advice of other diabetics I have talked to. I am on high fat, low carb; and have worked my sugars down from 275 to 146, over a year of relearning how to eat. I am aiming for 100, but it may take another six months. I am eating 20g net carbs a day, which is incredibly low; maybe you might want to try 50g carbs a day (with the DR on board, because you wouldn't want so much insulin) and see if it helps? To reverse the type 2 you have to be very careful and see your doctor regularly because you can go hypo with insulin and no carbs. So it would be a slow and careful decline in conjunction with the dr. xx But certainly you could get off some of it. Don't know about the prednisone, that's for asthma isn't it?

Intermittent Fasting
at 48kg you sound like you are on the low end of normal weight for someone who is petite... fasting is something the older among us do because of degenerative problems, if you have access to good food then don't worry too much about it. As to sleeping after eating, there is literally nothing wrong with that. Smile Your body needs enough calories to get by, no matter how or when it gets them. Probably the most important thing I'd suggest looking at your profile is having a counsellor and getting a solution to the anxiety - if you have had it all your life and are skinny all your life, my suspicion is it's genetic, a MTHFR gene mutation, that you can get tested for and if you have it, they give you special vitamin B folates that allow you to absorb vitamin b complex properly. You are young and can gain so much from investigating this early in your life. Smile
