Fritzy 22's Journal, 20 March 2022

I was trying to visualize myself after losing the weight I need to. I did this while eating roasted, salted cashews out of the bag. I am just not as motivated as I need to be right now.

We are supposed to be in the 80's all week starting tomorrow. It's the time of year when I keep the standing fan next to the space heater, never sure what to expect. But I think it's probably time to take the flannel comforter off the bed, but I'm keeping the heated throw blanket close, just in case.

I'm leaving in a few days with my sister on a driving trip to Washington to visit my niece. I've never travelled with my sister for 10-12 hours. I hope we don't drive each other crazy. I hate when she drives - she very aggressive and usually drives too fast. She thinks I'm a slow poke. We're taking my car.

I dunno, I think more than cashews are needed. when I'm with a terrible driver I can't escape, I sit in the back and sleep. better to not know what's going on.

Exactly Fritzy— I have the fan and the space heater sitting right next to each other. I washed my winter blankets but folded them at the end of the bed. Took my flannel sheets off and put my Cuddle Duds ones on. Meantime it was chilly when I headed out hiking this morning but it’s now a nice 73 and I ended up with a layer of clothes stuffed in my backpack.

Thanks Liv! If I drive, the trip will be fine. But it's such a long drive it would be nice if my sister could drive a couple of hours. We'll see. Katsolo - I couldn't sleep in the back sit if my sister is driving. Too stressful and I need to be upfront to keep stepping on the passenger brake which would drive her crazy. Thanks DP! We've talked about trying to drive the speed limit to avoid expensive speeding tickets and too get better gas mileage. Kenna - I've been washing bedding all day. I have a house/pet sitter coming while I am gone for 5 nights so want everything clean for her.

I love traveling with my sister, she's been my best friend my whole life! Have fun, hope the driving works out well for both of you. 💖

Hope you'll put your feet up for some R&R after working so hard to prepare for your housesitter. Squirrels love cashews 😉

Fritzy, our best friend drives us to Laughlin all the time, for they get a new car every two years. Yet, how he hasn’t died yet is beyond me. He drives like a bat out of hell and weaves in and out of cars, and tails people all the time. He is 77 and thinks he’s 27!! I literally crush my husband’s hand holding it so tight, and put an imaginary hole through the floorboard with the imaginary back passenger brake!!! I HATE IT!!! Wish they’d build a train there!!!!🙃😁

Shir - my sister and I are 2 years apart in age. We are opposites and always have been. She's very spontaneous and I make plans, lists, put things on the calendar. For most of our adult lives we lived an hour's drive away from each other, then an hour and a half. 11 years ago I drove from my house to visit her in their vacation home and then decided to buy a house myself in the neighborhood. I retired and it because my primary residence. Now my sister and her husband live here full time. They are just a couple blocks away. Losingtown - it's funny but I always get my house really clean before leaving on a trip so I come home to a clean house. With a house sitter here I just want everything to be clean so she is comfortable. I made a list of about 30 things to do and am already through most of it. I list every little thing. And it only takes a couple minutes to do most of the chores (clean master bath mirror, clean guest bath mirror, etc). Shrewdness, your friend sounds like my sister. She will tailgate people because she wants to be in front of everyone. Her husband is the opposite, he's even more of a defensive driver than I am. I like when he drives. He'll pull over to the side of the road to let people pass when even I would wait for a turn out or passing lane. My sister gets very defensive and her feelings hurt if anyone says anything about how she drives. She thinks she's a great driver. But I let her know how I feel - "I don't want to die in a car accident today!" Too bad you can't just follow your friend to Laughlin.

I do not drive with those people. I tell them why and we take separate cars. If they don’t like it, it is not my problem. Working in the ER, I have seen more than my share of these scenarios.

Aye... I hear you. Try to sleep during the car trip? You won't be able to change your sister, but you can be 'unconscious' while she is driving... lol.

Hope you have a nice trip.

I get it. Mentally I'm in the same boat. I can't seem to hit my goals because I can't keep either my portions or choices under control. No one can do it but me, and I'm not doing so hot at coaching at the moment. You can do this.

Kenna - we are taking my car and I'm driving. If my sister wants to drive I'll let her only if she promises not to drive faster than everyone on the road and no tailgating. Thanks Buenitabiship! Gwzfire - I wouldn't be able to sleep if my sister is driving. Thanks Walk4! Thanks Adameve - I know that I have to be totally committed and I'm not there yet. Once I am I really stick to the plan. I've been starting too many diets on a Monday that end Monday at noon. 3dkids2 - I think the trip will be okay. I hope anyway we are both looking forward to seeing my niece, my sister's daughter and her husband. They moved to Washington a year ago.
