7 As I approach my 30th birthday, I realize that I only get one body in this life, and that I'd better take care of it. Now.
I've started seeing a personal trainer at my gym. The goal for this is two fold: I need help developing a plan to get fit. When I've gone to the gym, I've often picked what to do randomly ('oh hey, there's a treadmill open'). I also get bored easily, so I'd like to have a good list of things I can switch between that work the same muscle groups.
Also, I need her to whip my butt into shape. Seriously. It's hard to get started, not even knowing what to do or how you're body is supposed to feel.
So I saw her for the second time yesterday. At least today I don't hurt the same way I did last week. Walking up and down the stairs for the L was a pain. Literally. Today I'm a bit sore, but it's not unbearable.
But you know what? It's really empowering to know what I *can* do! I didn't think I could keep going in some of the exercises, but I did. I could. Who knew?
on a scale of 1-10, 10 being best, today I feel like a 7!)
