jsfantome's Journal, 24 January 2011

Up early, and reflecting on the weekend. Did well w/ my foods, but terrible at getting in my exercise! (none.) That has to change. Starting to feel a little like the folks at the gym are gonna be sending me a 'get well soon' card any time now!!! LOL!

So happy to have gotten my new appliances in...and working... oh, love them! Just LOVE!

One of my kids, the middle son (23) who is studying and working towards becoming a full time firefighter... is graduating from the State Firefighter's Academy in a couple weeks! We took him and his girlfriend out to celebrate last night! (they are such a cute couple...and I am praying this is the ONE for him!) She's a keeper!!

Went to a Mexican Restaurant. Had a Fajaita Salad, no shell or whatever, just the salad w/ steak strips, bell peppers and onions, sour cream and guacamole. (YUM). I did have some Tortilla Chips w/ Cheese Dip while waiting for my dinner. (this is my PLANNED indulgence... good, bad, or indifferent... I totally enjoyed it!) Probably had about 20 chips w/ dip. Probably drank 4 glasses of water w/ my dinner... and another 2-3 at home afterwards... Up 3 times through the night to the bathroom... so don't think the after affects will be too tragic! Will wait a couple of day before weighing in again. Everything looks and feels the same... but just keeping it real - so that's why I am mentioning it.

Otherwise, everyone is healthy, happy and freezing! In the below zero temps for the next day or two... YUCK! But the new boiler and heating system is working great so far... and we are warm and toasty on the inside!

Well, looking forward to a good week... Goals this week:

1. M, W, F - Walking on the treadmill at the gym. (hills/incline)
2. Tu, Th - Upper / Lower Body weight resistance, muscle training
3. Grocery Shopping: Add one new Crockpot Recipe.
4. Don't forget my water...no matter how sick of the bathroom I am! The more I go...the better I feel... just repeat that all day!!!
5. Follow up Dr.'s appt on Tuesday. (more info to follow).

Have a great day. Love.

I think my husband just said it's -8(F) degrees out! A bit nippy! Just started a fire in the woodstove to take the edge off! Dogs went out in record time! No meandering this morning! All business...out...and in! My clothes dryer is being tempermental to the cold...and turned off. I have a ball of frozen towels in my dryer! Seriously. Husband is going out to brave this cold and see if the 'outlet' outdoors is blocked from ice or snow ??? It's always something around here... :) But no worries... they still have laundry mats last time I checked - and this too shall pass!

Oh Paula, geez, I like snow in moderation, like on a vacation. But the temps you report are really not fit for human habitation...good grief, I would not leave the house, I would be duct taping the cracks around the doors. Don't wander too far from that wood stove...stay warm.

Paula, yay the fridge is up and running! Did I miss the photos? Sounds like you had a lovely meal out with your son and his girlfriend! It's so nice when you get on with their partners, otherwise you might be the monster in law one day! Lol

In a house this old...that might actually work, Raven... the duck tape that is! Sure hope the car works this morning... youngest son has mid terms!

Yes, Leanne...they are on yesterday's journal (the pics). I sure hope I'm not the monster in law... ever! And she's a doll. Truly. So I do hope they stay together. They have been dating for over 3 years now... but he is looking to get his career started and established...save a little money...before he thinks too much about marriage...or so he says.

Good reflection on your weekend, I think that is so important to do to keep you moving forward. Good plan for the week ahead. Whatcha gonna do in the crockpot? Always interested in new ideas. -12 here when hubby got up at 5am and now at -2 at 7am...gonna be a heatwave! hhahaha

Get those towels draped all over the house to dry. With all the cold weather and heating, you could probably use the humidity! Of course, they won't be quite as fluffy as dryer-dried towels. Glad your heating system is working fine, you wouldn't want to have that fail on you in those temps. Good luck with all the "to do's" today.

Paula, I love Mexican food! I'm so afraid of going there for losing my control and totally pig out! Everything is sooo good there! I'm proud of you that you remained in moderation! Have a wonderful evening and healthy rest of the week!
