Cindy Thompson's Journal, 15 December 2010

My daughter got the envelope she was expecting from FedEx this afternoon. Mercer bought out Hammond and Associates. They are an investment company that my daughter works for. Naomi is not high on the totem pole. She just works for a few of the consultants. The ones who quit must have put in a good word for her. She still has a job. No bonus this year again; however, in this economy she is blessed to have a job. Both her and Chad work close by each other. That is why Olivia and I are able to eat lunch with them every week day. Some people are jealous as their situation doesn't allow them to do this. I can understand that. We do need to count our blessings and do very much thank God that we are able to have family time together. My husband is a very patient man to let me help out with our 20 month old grandaughter Olivia. I know that I complain alot about riding the train and being in the car for hours. That is the worst part of it. Being with Olivia...at least right now...is one of the best gifts that a nana could ever get. Someday, when God makes a way for my daughter in law to get better mentally, I'll be able to see my other grandaugter who is 5 months old. I haven't seen her in person yet:( Just a utube video. We were only allowed to send her two sleepers and some socks for Christmas. No toys. Well my kids liked playing with the box at that age. Hope that her birthday and next Christmas are different. Thanks for reading and listening to me journaling. Stay safe and warm. Or if you are somewhere warm...stay safe and cool.

Cindy, you are truly a blessed woman to have your daughter and granddaughter so close and a husband you supports you. Shame on those people who are jealous. I myself do not have a mother that cares as much for me and my boys like you do. She does not participate or support me in any way, and she lives only two blocks away. I have not seen her since before Thanksgiving when she got upset at me when I called her to tell her how much weight me and Michael have lost. You are very lucky. Olivia will grow up and remember how much her nana loves her. My grandma has already gone to heaven, but you remind me of her. Your post has reminded me of how much I cherish my relationship with my boys, and wish that they would never grow up!! I got a little teary eyed here. You sound like a wonderful person.

Now I'm crying...You are a blessing to those boys and your husband. And if your mother doesn't see what a beautiful daughter she has than shame on her. She is really missing out. God bless you. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Cindy. You make me feel warm inside. My boys are my life. All my boys. People like you are role models for people like me that don't have good family relationships. I hope I am like you when I become a nana. Thanks again for all your support.

Cindy your story sounds very familiar. I too find the time with family and my precious grandchildren is one of the most special times in my life. The people who are jealous and those that chose to be that way. What they don't understand is that the time lost can never be replaced. I too got very teary eyed reading all this. Hope you have a wonderful and blessed day.:)

Cindy so happy your daughter still has her job. Your little Olivia will remember as one of her best freinds. Thats what my niece said to me last year at the beach. I feel like her grandma as she is only 8 but I watched her being born. My baby Sister had her late in life. Any way enjoy her to the max. I know she is precious. Later Bren
