I told you I could smile! The greyscale is hiding a multitude of time of month flaws in my skin, but what better time to smile for the camera than when you're sleepy and menstruating? Also this is what I meant by describing myself as a gap-toothed hag. Hag doesn't really have a negative connotation; I like the word as reclaimed by mid-career Mary Daly. I am a moderately frightening chick who dwells on the fringes of society, and the term suits me. In fact, here's a little more about the origins of the term that'll make my appreciation of it make sense. I hope. https://www.dailywritingtips.com/the-descent-of-hag/

And a very nice smile it is! Society needs variety, that's what keeps it interesting. As I used to tell my mother when she reprimanded me for my behavior, "people need something to talk about." 🌈 🌈🌈

I find people that are on the fringe of society much nicer, kinder and interesting people.

I believe our eyes are the window to our soul.... not the space, alignment or gap between our front teeth. The pics of you smiling or not are beautiful !

Thank you; you've all been so kind to me. Every time I look at my own face, I am humbled. Not by how pretty I might be looking that day, but by the resemblance to my father. What you see is entirely the feminine version of his face. It's a reminder that I want to live up to more than just a physical similarity; I wish my soul was more like his. He radiates a kindness and warmth that makes animals and kids gravitate toward him for protection. Everyone really. I just notice at family do's that the critters and young'uns flock to him.

The Wife of Bath character from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales was described as having a gap between her teeth; this description was to indicate she was a passionate woman. Wonderful love for your father!

Yes! The Wife of Bath outlasted, if you will, 5 husbands. I believe. Passionate is the most genteel way to say it :D
