Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 29 January 2019

It's official. I'm an accepted gym member. Today one of the regulars complained to me about the resolutions people. I think this means I'm a regular too. I think I've been accepted by the tribe. Plus people who I have no clue what their name is are talking to me. One of them waved to me today too. The fit kids like me!

I've still managed to eat pretty well. The cravings to stuff an entire sugar cookie into my mouth is still there but the motivation to see this through and get back down to where I want to be is stronger. I think I started eating a little more too because I don't feel any different this week. I guess tears in a salad are the magic trick. I don't want to cry into a salad anymore though so today I'm just being more mindful of eating only when I'm hungry. Not because the dog ate the police car and the kid with the firetruck keeps ramming it into the other kids shins and one of them is screaming they are hungry but honest to god I can't tell their voices apart sometimes. When they yell MOOOOOM MOOOOOM MOOOOM I'M HUNGRY!!!!! they all sound the same.

I've managed to workout too. Peanut started PreK this week and my peanut is more of a walnut. I'm pretty sure he could chuck the other kids in his class. It's a little more challenging getting 3 kids on a bus at the same time while keeping pants on peanut but we've managed and I've still managed to wake up and work out early despite the issue with having a child who would rather walk around in his underwear all day long suddenly have to wear pants. Seriously... pants suck. He has a point. Since I've been doing body workouts in the morning and Spin Monday and Wednesday I don't even feel like I'm going to die in spin. If anyone tells the instructor that I will have to hurt you because he would hurt me.

Ummmmmm.. Other than that. I've got nada. Work, kids, and focus on me. I haven't heard from he who shall not be mentioned. I don't think I will hear from him. I'm taking this as a valuable lesson in love and life and salad tears.

Way to go on the gym!!! I go 4x a week, have been for the past 20 years. If anything it just makes me feel better about myself. It gets your endorphins going too. And yes, do cardio with weights. I'm with you on the sugar cookie thing. I can do that with processed sugar no matter what form it is in! :)

My son didn't see a purpose for shoes. When we were prepping him for school we told him he would have to wear shoes. He paused, and then said, "Then I'm not going". He did go and today at age 34 he wears shoes most of the time!

I'm not a fan of pants either. I would go out more if it wasn't a deal breaker.
