Managed to prep and eat liver, kidney and bone marrow today. Small victory, as this has been quite a hump to climb. Now when done once, it will be easy to repeat.

Can sit and raise up without too much pain in the connective tissue between knees and muscles, so I should be ready for a bikeride again tomorrow I guess.

Running no scales, no restriction carnivorous lifestyle currently. Find I get a lot of stuff done around the house, due to high energy.

Will run freestyle for a while, to see if I 'can walk' without scales. Simply let satiety and energy do their stuff. Crossing fingers for it to work out ok.

How'd you fix the kidney? And the bone marrow...broth?

you really should give yourself more time to heal. when I overstressed myself and switched up the diet I am still in healing mode 2 weeks later. I do very very limited exercise and well spaced days. I would not push yourself right now. and make sure you get enough fat with all the protein you are eating. too much liver will raise your vitamin A to extreme levels too. I need to add a little liver occasionally too, good you reminded me

Pate is my go-to method of eating liver. YUM! Spread it on a slice of zucchini or cracker or cheese 'chip' or whatever cracker your WOE allows.

LZenn Bought a cow foot, slow cooked it for a bit till I could scoop out the marrow. Easier to eat than expected. The bones then got a few more hours slow cooking, till the outer stuff got soft like firm jelley. Tasted good too, plus the broth was also good. This primal food went from scary to pleasant, which was a shock, sort of. Pealed the kidney like it should be an orange with thick skin. Kept the 'skin' only, and fried it with some oyster sauce and a tiny bit of a sauce with a picture of mushrooms on the bottle. Think it is a salty sauce with mushrooms as base. Was easy to eat too.

baskington Feel you are on to something good there. Allow time for full recovery. Slept 12 hours last night, and cannot recall when that happened last time. Norm has been 6 hours. Also feel a new sense of strenght in the muscles. Another grey morning here today, so bets are in for more recovery time. Usually do around 3oz liver a couple of times a week. Feel that may be too little, so will try with a bit more. Trust the body can deal with excess better than too little.

so, cow feet? when you scoop marrow does it ooozz out of it? is it solid, I guess I'll have to try that. with the kidney. you only ate the skin?

jenjabba The pork kidney have some sort of light brown meat outside, and some segment of fat and red meat inside. Did only use the outer meat, and threw out the inner parts. Kind of like a small orange with thick skin, or avocado. Tasted better than expected. Kidneys has never been a part of my diet. Cannot recall ever being in my family's diet either. According to the Hungarian PKD discipline, liver, kidney and marrow should be included for a complete nutritional profile, and this was a tough challenge, till now.

Thanks diddlee I've never had either but I see them in my crazy grocery store. I'll consider them next time I go if the price is right. Thanks

I did the same thing I got addicted to the exercise and especially the cardio. I underrate and wore my body down. wasn't sleeping well either. When I switched up diets and began eating up to maintenance and then more lately. when on carnivore I did not realize it but overeating tends to cause me some issues too. after two weeks rest I am slowly starting back on exercise and making sure I eat enough so I am not under maintenance or at least not more then a few calories
