Day 4 of a planned 5 day fast

Well at least the scale is finally going in the right direction :)

I have also kept my carbs <5 all week and yesterday I did <2 carbs by only using half a scoop of "Quest Vanilla Milkshake Protein Powder" in my morning coffee.

This stuff is the nectar of the Gods. I had consumed a full scoop on Tuesday and felt 'carbed up'. This was fine because I lifted weights that morning, but I had a feeling that while it only had 3 carbs, it has 24 grams of protein and I feel my body will burn it for energy (See: How Too Much Protein is Bad for Ketosis (https://bit.ly/2L7rFyK)).

Anyway, yesterday I had that bad breath that I get when in weight losing mode (this has me using breath spray all day), so I was not too surprised that I finally had a loss. However, I am still up 3 pounds from my low in mid-June.

Thanks for all the support yesterday! It REALLY helped me. I was feeling sorry for myself but I was totally fine after reading all your comments.

Thank You!

You can do it, you have all the tools to help. If you don't go too crazy on the carbs, with fasting like you do, it should not take as much time to get back into ketosis when you start back in your fast

Ohh I see! Well I did read an article somewhere that talked about how we don’t slip out of Keto as easily as we think. The depth lowers but you can transition back easily. I don’t know how true it is but I guess it would depend on how “bad” you cheat and probably how long you’ve been Keto. They were referring to a cheat meal not weekend...

@CrashtestDawnie - Yes, I can totally believe that after one meal you could get back into Ketosis. But I 'go off the rails'. However, I don't plan to eat until 3:00pm tomorrow afternoon and I plan to eat egg, cheese, and ground beef and keep my carbs <30. If I can do that who knows...
