my only Dogma...experiment on yourself. Gather data. Listen to podcasts by those on the fringes of fitness as opposed to mass marketing. Read lots of books... trust books with notes based on real lab experiments conducted with human beings, not opinions of good looking people.

Body Scale question
For what its worth the scales are not supposed to be precise, however for you if you use the same one every day, the relative changes are sueful and meaningful. lets say its off...you are 24% bf on scale and in reality 23%bf... having the scale go from 24% to 23.5% is a good inidcator of fat loss, and the reverse is tru, but was it actually 0.5%. possibly not. My opinion is when my numbers don't seem to make sense, I'll look at my water number it is usually higher or lower than normal, My numbers this morning were 22.6% bf, 56.6% water, 40,2% lean mass. no it does not add up to 100%, but if I feel like my bf should have gone down and didn't usually my water is off meaning I am holding water or dehydrated and the scale is confused. I like the numbers and don't put much faith in them as being abosultely accurate but as I change wieght I see my bf going down and my lean mass going up. started my diet at 24.5%bf and Satruday I was 21.9% body fat. I can see the differnce but are those numebrs really accurate? I don't care, as long as I see movement down. good luck.

CRAVINGS - How do you deal with them.
Lately,
I keep the fridge full of cold La Croix fizzy water. Last night wanted a treat, grabbed a coconut flavored water and drank it. I do drink a big bottle of mineral water every day, this is not the same (no minerals just fizzy and flavor with no calories)

Sugars (Good or Bad)
Phil wrote:
Look at it from the perspective of insulin antagonism; sugar, whether it's sucrose, fructose, lactose, or any other form will provoke an insulin response, avoid fruit until you've reached maintenance, then add it back slowly while monitoring how it affects your weight.

Phil,
Now that you are in maintenance, do you mind sort of giving me the big picture on how you eat? Do you ever eat bread, special occasion only?

thanks
