Newbies Trying to Exercise Regularly
If you need to exercise in the evening, don't do it before bed. There is pretty much no way you will fall asleep unless you are dead tired (and that's not a good way). If you absolutely feel guilty about loosing a day of workout and its evening time, go for a walk outside. Not a fast one though. The idea is to keep the heart rate down.
You need to diversify your exercises. There is no way you can do treadmill every day because you need to let the affected muscles rest. You will be discouraged pretty soon if you keep pounding the same muscle groups. If you are relying fully on cardio to get you through this weight loss, then just pick up any of the thousands of instructional videos.

Workout motivation and commitment
Just like many of the posts above, I agree that you have into the mindset of loving to workout. I think the big factor is that you think of a workout as one whole big chunk of work that you would have to do. At that point in time, you start coming up with excuses for why you would not be able to complete it. I think the better way to approach this is thinking of one exercise at a time. Pick something that you enjoy most (an exercise) and then start to add on. This is sort of a "foot in the door" technique. Don't penalize yourself for not finishing the whole routine. Every day is different and you make the best of it.
Now, the way it works for me personally is that I like to stretch my muscles because it makes me feel good. Once I'm done with a small stretch, I'm much more motivated to continue with a workout. The key is that I don't commit to working out when I start my stretch, it becomes a natural progression.
Also, if you are working out in the morning, before you had any food, your body is naturally low on energy. You need something to get you going. Now, I don't profess supplements, but my nutritionist told me that a mix of something like Amino 1000 or Amino Vital is digested really fast and would help in that kind of situation.

P90X vs Insanity
Boosi, you probably won't loose any weight and you really don't want to. Your weight/height is proportional. You might gain a little muscle and loose some fat, but you'll probably stay same weight. You will feel much leaner though. Also, you might want to determine your body fat % to give you an idea of where you can go with this.
Kenpo X and Synergistics programs in P90X will actually supplement and/or get you ready for kickboxing.
P90X overall is great as preparation for most sports.
It does require you to do this pretty much every day. Some of the workouts are not exhaustive. For example, you do a stretch routine once a week which you can't really count as a workout.
In case you really feel cranky, you can also cut parts of routines out. Do what feels right on a given day.

P90X vs Insanity
I would definitely recommend P90X. Some of the exercises might seem hard to start with, but you really get into it after a couple of weeks. The exercises tend to require more strength than the exercises in Insanity (at least on some of the days). That in mind, there is still quite a lot of cardio in P90X program. What you want is a combination of strength training and cardio to get toned.
I found Tony to be much better (than Shaun T from Insanity) at explaining the techniques and he's also entertaining. You will find yourself memorizing what he says.
Also, just like with any fitness program, to make it work you have to get the right diet. I don't remember who said this, but "Being fit is like riding a bicycle. One of your wheels is your exercise and the other is your diet." You won't get far without one of the wheels. Get a nutritionist. I got only 2 sessions with mine and that helped me a tremendously.
