I am a 23 year old teacher and musician looking to get back into my athletic habits. I have struggled with weight most of my life, even though throughout school I was constantly involved in high activity/highly competitive sports. Throughout the years I just gained and gained and gained. I had little knowledge of how food actually effected the body and got caught up in diet phases that never stuck and never worked. In April I made an investment in myself by getting a nutritionist and a personal trainer at a health and wellness center.
I eat mostly paleo, but am experimenting with adding in full fat dairy to my diet. Never in my life have I been interested in nutrition and fitness, but because of my previous trainer, and the communities I found at the health and wellness center and crossfit, I am thriving.

Since April 2012, I have completed Warrior Dash, Hero Rush, MuckRuckus for MS, Bill Bottino Mud Run for Cancer, The Zombie Mud Run, Run for the Battleshipp 5k, Turkey Trot 5k, and passed my exam to become a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer. I am currently at a Crossfit gym that I love and the community is very supportive. I am constantly seeing my fitness improve and my coaches always show excitement when I tell them new goals I have reached (less assistance on pullups, 120lb split clean and jerk, 85lb snatch lift, unassisted 20" box jumps, completing WODs with 400m runs in them, less scaling of movements).
