I am a 37 year old wife, "mommy" to 2 kids (8 year old DD and 5 year old DS), 3 cats and 1 VERY spoiled Dandy dog. I work part-time as an RN. We live in a rural area, so getting to the gym is not the easiest task for me.

I have been overweight since 3rd grade. Basically, as long as I can remember. Recently, my DH has lost 15 pounds and is looking good, so I am feeling motivated to lose my extra weight too. I have 50 pounds, at least, to lose.

I was recently placed on blood pressure pills and would really like to lose the weight and get off the pills! I am hoping between that and DH's weight loss that I will finally be motivated to lose this weight. Motivation, or lack thereof, is my biggest challenge!

What are the best foods to boost your metabolism?
I am wanting to make sure that I am eating the best foods that I can to boost my metabolism. I am eating anywhere between 1000-1200 calories/day (lots of veggies). I am not hungry, but I am concerned about the low amount of calories. I am not wanting to go into the dreaded "starvation mode". Hopefully, some of the metabolism boosting foods with help me get my calories up without hurting my weight loss. Any thoughts or advice are welcome!
