I realized before I turned 40 that it was time for me to focus on ME or the bad stuff I didn't like wasn't going to change. My health issues, mainly hypothyroidism and recently gluten sensitivity, forced me to look at what I was eating, what is was doing to me and what I had to do to be healthier. Exercise was missing in this formula and I joined a kettlebell gym located 2 minutes from my house that has shown me how to get the most out of my time spent exercising. With all the knowledgeable people within those walls and my supportive FS buddies here, I have been able to slowly accomplish this.
I am all about organic fruits & veggies, grass-fed beef & dairy, and pasture-raised chicken and eggs, limiting carbs to complex ones, and not eating processed foods. Now, since I'm human...this doesn't always work out this way. But each day I do better, I learn more and my resolve is strengthened to stick with a healthful life.
I'm mainly keeping track of my weight and journaling here rather than counting calories. I'm eating sensible, watching portions, and eating whole, real food.
