Steve Bennett I am 42 years old living in Tampa, Florida. I have been struggling with weight issues my whole life. My Wife and I joined WW in early 2000 and I was able to loose 60 pounds. I went from 286 (My Heaviest ever) to 220. It was there that I stalled out, we moved several times in the years of 2005 - 2009 but have settled and are focused on getting healthy.
I have type 2 Diabetes and have been letting myself maintain for a few years now. I went to the Dr. in December and she gave me the ultimatum to get it under control or face insulin on my next check up. Well that was enough. I started managing my food intake and limiting my calories to 1500 per day. I have cut bread and carbohydrates back to a minimum. I am under a total of 100 grams of carbs a day.
I am working out every day in some capacity and feeling better after each work out. I travel as a consultant Sunday - Thursday every week and have to make tough choices about the food I eat, it is hard but not impossible. I reached a high of 265 lbs and decided that it was too much. I am now currently down to 248 and slowly losing. My goal is 165 and hope to be there by July 2011. The other main goal for me is to reduce or eliminate the medications I am taking for my Blood sugars and get back to a normal life.
I have never been one who was able to journal my food, I was always too lazy for that but with this application I find it so easy to track what I am going to eat that it has become a habit. I love this tool and the support it brings. I am fortunate to have my wife working by my side on this journey and have the constant support of my family. I look forward to July when I can walk on the beach again with no shirt and feel good about how I look.
