I'm 43 and live in downtown Toronto. No kids. Excellent cat named Lola. Also boyfriend who identifies as part cat, who lives in New York City. I am somewhere on the low end of the eating disorder spectrum, although I have had some treatment for binge eating disorder. I have always been a little bit heavier than my peers, and at 5'2", it really shows up. At this point, I am the heaviest I've ever been, and have been stuck here for awhile, toiling for a few months at Weight Watchers, only to fall off the wagon and binge at night for a week and gain it all back.

Anyway, I need a kick start. I need some results. I need a win in the Linny column! So I'm giving the Puma Diet a go.

I am stuck on atkins
My weight loss stalled after the first 2-3 weeks. This week I quit aspartame (diet soda) cold turkey, as well as Atkins bars and other artificial sweeteners. The scale has started moving again.

Also, are you getting enough fat? If you are eating too much protein in place of carbs, your body may actually start to metabolize it into glucose, impeding the effects of ketosis.

weight not moving
I'm like you - been on the plan about a month (5 weeks). First two weeks, amazing, gangbusters, 10 pounds lost. Then it slowed, then it stopped. (Then I ate ice cream, oops, just that one time.)

I decided to eliminate the Atkins bars (I've been reading varying opinions on whether or not that "net Atkins carbs" boast is trustworthy) and artificial sweeteners in general. This meant giving up my beloved Diet Dr. Pepper, which is just about killing me. I am a heavy drinker - usually 5-6 cans a day. I have read that aspartame can hinder ketosis, so I got rid of it this week as an experiment.

The scale has finally started moving again, with this stripped down approach. I am going to keep with this approach for as long as I can stand it. I really miss the DDP.

Dreamfields Pasta
I found a website run by a Swedish doctor, Andreas Eenfeldt, that I've found quite helpful in finding scientific information about low carb dieting. The home page (http://www.dietdoctor.com/) has some videos on it right now that expose a couple of companies that make "low carb" bread. Not the same company as the one you've mentioned, but the point is that the FDA does not monitor what companies choose to put on their nutritional information labels. I found this quite shocking. They can say whatever they want about the carb content of their food, with basically nothing more than a slap on the wrist if they outright lie about it.

(Dr. Eenfeldt also says Atkins bars are bogus. I read this the day after I bought three boxes and nearly cried myself to sleep. I am trying to just limit myself to half a bar a day, when I really am craving something sweet.)
