Hello, I have been on induction of the atkins diet for almost 4 weeks adn have lost only 7 lbs. I am not eating any whites what so ever. I log all my foods adn eat between 1000-1200 calories a day. I have been eating atkins bars (which I will stop and see if helps) I am also trying to stop diet pops. Any suggestions. I use myfitnesspal to log foods. I cannot tell amt of carbs from veggies.
Make sure you are drinking enough water.
Make sure you are tracking the net carbs properly.
There are a number of reasons why weight does not come off. Over the counter medications such as NSAIDS cause water retention and block fat burning. Prescribed medications such as hormone replacement,beta blockers, some diuretics, steroids, insulin and insulin stimulating drugs, antidepressants, and steroids such as prednisone can interfere with weight loss.
More than three packets per day of artificial sweeteners can inhibit weight loss. Along with that the bars and shakes and diet pop could be an issue that you already are addressing.
Double check to see if you are eating the correct amount of protein for your body size. In the last book there is a chart that has an indicator for body height for both men and women. Refer to that to be sure.
Make sure you are eating enough fat.
Maybe you are not eating enough and your body has decided it is in starvation mode so won't give up the weight. It is recommended that women take in "1500 to 1800 calories" per day...page 107
Maybe you did not have alot of water retention at first and your body isn't showing the same loss as say the lady down the block who had a severe case of water retention before she started Atkins.
Every body is different and sometimes yours may need more time to adjust.
Stress will inhibit weight loss.
You couldbe metabolically resistant to weight loss andit is just going to take longer.
