Ok, here goes:
My name is Leah, I am 22 years old and an at-risk youth counselor. I have been on this site since I bought my Droid Eris (love it!) in January, but I am now making the big step to make my journal and food diary public. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal, but I am a recovering bulimic, which gave way to just binge eater after I stopped throwing up, so food, eating, etc. has been a huge source of shame for me. I have severely damaged my health but am trying to gain control again. I am pledging to be completely honest with myself and record EVERYTHING I put into my mouth, including the times I fall of the wagon (which is evident on my calendar already lol). Looking for support more than anything else. I am a strong proponent of losing weight the healthy way, as I can attest to the fact that starving and using substances to lose weight results in poor health. I think we have a responsibility to set an example for teens and young people to live a healthy lifestyle, I know it would have helped my when I was younger.
