After I got out of the Army in 1990, I got married and then started putting on weight. I maxed out a few years ago at 315 lbs (I am 5'10) and have been slowing losing weight since then but have not really tried that hard.

Recently I have been having issues with my blood sugar and diabetes. I have a horrific fear of needles and the thought of having to take insulin scares me to the point of having to change my undies.

So after doing some research and soul searching, I am going very low carb, semi-paleo and starting to exercise.
