Start Weight

Lost so far: 85.0 lb

Current Weight
305.0 lb
Performance: losing 5.0 lb a week

Goal Weight
220.0 lb
Still to go: 85.0 lb
Long story short. I have been very successful in the past. I lost over 120 lbs about 12 years ago. It took me about 7 months and I felt and looked great. Over the years it crept up and I gained it all back plus 50 lbs. I am frustrated and I am here to watch what I eat, count my calories and I love the math behind it. I am all about creating my calorie deficit. My first goal is to get to 299 and then 250 and then 220! I hope to get to my last goal weight in a year. Good luck to all!

Before and After, anyone?

I do appreciate the compliments, thank you! But I think we all have a very skewed idea of what different weights look like on women. I always thought when I was younger that I must be ENORMOUS because it seemed like women were supposed to weigh 120 pounds- less now! I remember when 120 sounded really tiny and too small. Now everyone seems to want to be 105.

Anyway, I digress. Yes, that's what I look like at 5'8" 167 pounds (which is still technically overweight on the BMI chart, btw). I exercised a lot throughout the weightloss process. Strength training is the key to changing your shape. Luckily I found a really awesome barbell class called Body Pump (try it if your gym has it!) which is choreographed to music, because I find weight lifting really boring and would much rather do cardio. I have worked out at least 5 times a week for the last 2 years.

@stacie, it's just a design I drew Smile Doesn't really mean anything, I just liked the way it looked.

You could tell you worked your butt off too! You look very lean and sculpted. Great work!

Hate Cardio
I really dont like to go to the gym. Id much rather ride a real bike or play basketball for instance. I do realize however that it is necessary. What keeps me going doing cardio is not staying on one machine for a long time. The short amount of time increments really helps me because when you group 3 or 4 machines doing 15 minutes each, its a lot easier mentally to handle. Instead of walking or jogging on a tradmill for 60 minutes. I bike for 10, walk/jog for 15, bike another 10, go back for another 15 on the treadmill and then 10 minutes of eliptical ehich = 60 minutes. That way I dont get bored or discouraged with how much time is left on just one machine. Try it out. Plus you shouldnt just do one machine anyway. Get your body to move around all its parts.

Has anyone heard of or tried the Homeopathic HCG weight loss program
1200 calories is a rough estimation per day on what your body needs to survive. That number isnt always exact. I am on the Optifast medical program which is monitored by a hospital and we have 960 calories a day by eating only their stuff. Bars, soups and shakes. It has all the nutrition your body requires. Sure, for a skinny person it might be nice to get 1200 calories per day. But your body wont feed of itself with tissue and muscle when it has an abundance of fat sitting right at your gut and ass. There is 200 lbs of it just sitting right there, so to say 1200 calories is the least you should have on a diet, might be a good idea in general, but for alot of overweight people a VLCD is fine.
