No support at home
My husband is one of those that has a faster than light metabolism and can eat whatever he wants w/o gaining weight. He likes his cookies and pies. He is completely understanding of what I am doing and why, so he keeps that stuff out of my face. He has a small fridge where he keeps his beer and any snacks like that as well as a high shelf, that I would have to get a ladder to reach. I can do the out of sight-out of mind thing and he gets to have his treats. It works for us.

alternate day fasting
I have been doing a modified version of IF for 3 weeks now, although I don't go as low as 500 kcals on fasting days, because I work a very physically strenuous schedule and I was feeling lightheaded and weak-I can't be like that at work. On fasting days I eat between 2-8pm, 1200 kcals is the target, which is 50% of my RDI. On non-fasting days, I stay within my RDI and on my 2 days off, where I am sitting on my ass for most of the day, I stay 500kcals lower than RDI. Not too sure of the health benefits as I haven't been doing it long enough to tell. I have lost 7 lbs and am way more aware of what I am sticking into my pie-hole, so I'll take it.
