I lost two ounces, not quite sure how and I gained some muscle. I still ate crap this weekend and returned to regular eating on Monday. For some reason I can't seem to break out of that rut. When I began this journey in October I was so dedicated to not cheating and doing well and the minute it looked as though I was going to reach my goal soon I began to gain. I really do care I just don't know how to get back to caring as much as I did when I started.
I got in the pool yesterday and did 800 m. I was shooting for 1000 m but I did not want to overdo it. Tonight I am doing noodle running in the pool with a friend. It is some kind of endurance thing she created since she fractured her foot and has only been able to workout in the pool. It should be fun. I will swim Wednesday morning and night, I will also swim on Thursday. Hopefully, when I go to the chiropractor on Wednesday and Friday I will be cleared to resume normal activities next week.

I hurt my back doing bootcamp. I was told that I should only swim for the next week. I'm depressed and trying not to eat my sadness. since I can't do the rigorous exercise I had been doing I have no choice but to focus on my diet. It is all so difficult.

Okay, it is time to get serious. I am vowing before all of you today that I am going to be just as dedicated to meeting my goals as I was in October. October 5, 2017 began my weight loss journey and I have found within the last month that I have been seriously slacking. If I am being honest; I am shocked that I haven't gained fat because I have pretty much been blowing my diet on the weekends and spending the rest of the week trying to do damage control. Although, I don't think it was a secret that I have been doing poorly due to my gain in weight. It just so happens that I have done well in other areas i.e. muscle gain.
I am up basically 5 lbs, but my fat % continues to go down. It is time for me to rededicate myself. I do well for a while and then I fall back into the madness of poor eating. I don't know what it is about the weekend, but it makes me go from mild mannered Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde. I chastise myself from Monday through Friday with eating properly and doing two work outs a day only to step on the scale to see an increase. I was experimenting with trying to find a happy medium, but now I know, for now there isn't one. My stomach is bloated from all the salt and sugar and no amount of detox tea is going to help me at this point. I am turning it around TODAY!!

MUSCLE VERSUS FAT
I have to decide to make a serious choice. I gained another pound. I lost some fat, I am retaining another pound of water. I gained almost two pounds of muscle. I cringe every time the scale goes up, but I always ask about muscle gain or loss. The point I am trying to make is; I can't have muscle and lose weight. I have to decide and be happy with the scale regardless of what it says.
Actually, in some areas I have to lose weight in order to see the muscle gain (arms, stomach) but I sometimes feel like a hamster on a wheel. In my head I'm like, "I want muscles (singing in my best Olivia Newton John voice)," and then I gain weight when step on the scale and go into panic mode. Gee whiz.
