I'm an accountant residing in Brooklyn, NY. I can tell you all about me and my life but I guess the most important thing is what I'm doing here :-) So here it is in a nutshell:
I'm 42 years old and was very physically fit when I was young (sound familiar?)
Somehow after my mid 20's, things changed. My weight went skyward and my physical fitness went to the birds.
I joined Fat Secret because by tuning in and validating my weight challenge on a regular basis, I think l stand a better chance of dealing with it. I think it can help me push through the barrier until I succeed once and for all. I want to have buddies and join challenges, and do everything I can to overcome myself.
I'm a yo-yo dieter. I do extremely well all week long, and am capable of getting into a great routine. I like to work out and I can find time to do it. When I follow a mindful diet, I succeed until the weekend comes. When I spend time with my husband, family and friends after being left to my own devices all week, I lose control and everything I worked so hard for is completely sabotaged. It seems like it doesn't have to do with eating junk food- just one slice of bread, a spoon of brown rice, or anything deviating from my routine will derail it all and push me off a cliff. I'm not sure WHY, but this is my challenge. No matter how aware of it I am, I can't seem to take the bull by the horns. It takes days for me to get back on track, and by the time I'm doing well again, the weekend comes again and I go through another vicious cycle.
I'm determined to reverse all of that. I know that it's going to be a long journey, but I believe I can get there. I don't have a trainer and I don't live near a gym. So it's up to me, myself and I to make the change. I can do this!
