My name's Amanda. I'm 33 years old, 5'6", an IT desk jockey, married with one snarky teenager. In my life, I have been overweight more often than not.

I did Atkins once about five years ago and lost 120 pounds before stupidly deciding I could handle weight loss in a normal carb way. Here's hoping I can make it happen again... permanently, this time!

Healthy Halloween treats?
You could make little goodie bags that are pre-sealed, and only buy enough candy to include in the sealed bags. The danger would be if any are left at the end of the night. Wink

The candy could just be one thing in there. The Oriental Trading stuff is a great idea... a little flashlight, stickers, something else that's cool and cute, and then maybe a candy or two. It doesn't have to be all about the candies.

Boyfriend is making me FAT
Ha, me kind of. My husband says it's hard for him to watch me deprive myself of anything. If I even look slightly longingly at a piece of cake or an order of French fries, he wants to get it for me. He's the world's worst enabler if I'm feeling weak-willed! "Ugh, I kind of want pancakes." He starts rummaging around in the kitchen looking for pancake ingredients. "Let's make you some pancakes then." It's hard to call him off once he's got the idea!

Losing Weight on a Budget
If you live in an area with access to smaller ethnic markets, you can get some really good prices on produce and other items there as well.

Texas State Fair!
I am so hungry right now. LOL, I'd like to try deep-fried beer, deep-fried cream cheese and deep-fried pecan pie, just once in my life, so I can say I've had the experience.

Out of Carbs for the day
When I run my carbs out, I eat some roasted chicken with some Atkins-friendly seasoning on it until I'm full! Or make yourself a couple of hamburger patties.
