I am a 51 year old female who has been steadily gaining a few pounds a year. I have entered menopause and have seen the weight coming faster and know that it is time to step up the excersise and drop down the amount of food I eat. I love to eat and cook (and drink alot of wine). I did Atkins many years ago to drop 10 pounds after childbirth and it worked very well, but now I know I have to change my way of cooking and eating and not just be on a diet. I choose Atkins again because it allows me to lose pounds quickly at first for the motivation aspect. I know that it will stall and just hope to continue loosing 1 to 2 pounds a week until I reach my goal or a comfortable weight.

Hurray for Atkins
They all see that I am not eating the birthdays cakes and pastries we get from vendors all the time. I just say that I gave up sugar and white starch foods and leave it at that. But the best remake I get is "Oh, just a little piece won't hurt." That is my favorite line, cause we all know that is a LIE.

Hurray for Atkins
This is my first post and would like to share something that is happening here where I work. All of the ladies here are always on some kind of DIET. They see that I am losing weight and do not comment on my loss. They are always hungary and eating CRAP..but the best thing is that after 30 minutes of arriving, they complain that their breakfast is gone and eat some type of sugar snack! When I tell them what I had for breakfast, they all comment, "I could never eat all that for breakfast!"
Inside I just laugh and laugh...
