Well, I'm back on track with my low carb eating. Yesterday, not having taken a lunch to work with me, and not wishing to go home to eat, after working only half a day, I went out to lunch. The restaurant I chose was one of my favorites, and is right next door to the theater I was going to, to see "Fate of the Furious". It's a buffet restaurant featuring Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and American foods. I also wanted to eat there to prove to myself that I could do so, and stay low carb. It was a risky venture, considering I had only recently fallen off the wagon; however, I was successful. I loaded my plate with the lowest carb veggies I could find, and stuck to the unbreaded shrimp, chicken and pork dishes; I also had some egg-drop soup to finish off my meal. :-) I call it a success, also, because in the past, I've never been able to get out of that place without indulging in at least a few pieces of sushi; even if I was doing low carb, but the pain of last weekend kept me on the straight and narrow. One last thing, if you haven't seen the the movie, and love action flicks, go see it; it's one of the best I've seen in a while.

Yesterday, unexpectedly, turned into a cheat day. I went to a meeting for the church auxiliary that I participate in, and some of the members brought in a bunch of food. There was fried chicken, potato salad, macaroni salad, rolls and a variety of desserts. Unfortunately, this time, I couldn't resist, so I had some fried chicken, potato salad, and one of the delicious homemade cookies that were brought in. That had a domino effect on the rest of my day. So, later in the day I had a piece of deep dish pizza, while attending a Faith Group; since the damage had already been done, and I didn't feel like cooking, I stopped at a Thai Restaurant for some Pad Thai, and Chicken Satay, to take home. As delicious as it all was, I paid the price, last night, by experiencing leg cramps most of the night. And no, it wasn't worth it in the long run, due to the pain. However, I'm back on track, today, having learned a painful lesson. Next time, hopefully, I'll remember the pain experienced this time, and avoid another cheat day. Some days are truly better than others.

This week has been kinda shaky. I did well on Sunday, and though I've been eating low carb, momentarily, lost focus yesterday. I had some leftover honey glazed ham, from Easter, and gobbled it down, last night, along with a few other things and failed to log them. However, I did good today, as there were a few dozen cookies, in the staff lounge at work, including some of those new Girl Scout S'mores cookies, which I've heard are really tasty, but chose to ignore them even though they were within arm's reach. I kept thinking, not going to happen, and even asked a teacher to move them to another table, as I may have been weakening at that point. Shortly thereafter I just left the lounge, removing myself from the temptation completely. Temptation can come at you daily, and all it takes is a momentary lapse in resolve.
